WhipScribe charges by the minute of audio: one minute of credit transcribes one minute of a recording, and a video counts the same minutes as its soundtrack. Packs are $4 for 300 minutes, $18 for 3,000 and $32 for 6,000, and pack credits never expire. Workspace is $19 a month for unlimited transcription up to a 300-hour fair-use mark, for you and up to 4 team members.

Slide to the hours of audio you have in a month. Every option is priced at that volume, cheapest first, with what each one leaves you to do yourself.
Finished products. Otter and Rev bill every month whether you use them or not.
Raw text by the minute, through code. Our API runs on the $32 Max pack ($0.32/h) or Workspace keys at $19 a month for up to 300 hours.
List prices read from each vendor's pricing page on 5 September 2026: Otter, Rev, OpenAI, Deepgram, AssemblyAI, Amazon Transcribe. OpenAI's 25 MB file limit is from its speech-to-text guide; AssemblyAI's 30-day transcript deletion is from its data-retention docs. Amazon's free 60 minutes a month apply for the first 12 months. We compare the transcription bill only.
On price per minute, raw developer APIs win: Deepgram is about $0.26 an hour, AssemblyAI $0.21, OpenAI’s transcription API and Amazon Transcribe $0.36 — the same $0.006/min as our $18 Plus pack. What you get from them is minutes; you build the uploading, storage, speaker labels and reading experience, and your audio goes to that vendor. Whipscribe is the finished product: paste a URL or drop a file with no account, speaker labels included, clips and Claude chat on every transcript, an API and MCP server on the same credits, and audio that stays on our private cloud and is never sent to OpenAI or any third-party AI. Meeting-notes apps like Otter ($16.99/mo for 1,200 minutes) and Rev ($25.49/mo for 5,000) bill monthly whether you use the minutes or not; our packs never expire. Figures are list prices read from each vendor’s pricing page on 5 September 2026 — the comparison above links to every source.
Yes. Your conversation is saved to your account, so you can close the tab and pick it up later, on any device. It is deleted when you delete the transcript, and when you delete your account. Only the transcript text and your messages go to Anthropic, per request, and Anthropic does not train on them. Your audio never leaves our servers.
Free recordings start within about 10 minutes; paid recordings start immediately. Either way the page shows the real clock, and you can leave and come back.
Pack credits never expire — buy a pack today, use it a year from now, same minutes. Plan minutes roll over while you’re subscribed (you can bank up to 3× your monthly allowance); if a plan lapses, remaining plan minutes stay usable for 90 days.
Only Workspace is. It renews monthly on your billing date, through Paddle, and you can cancel anytime from your credits page — it stays active to the end of the period you paid for. Every pack is a one-time payment and the credits never expire; nothing renews unless you buy again. The yearly option inside the pack cards is also a single payment.
Unlimited transcription for you and up to 4 team members: files, links and recordings of any length, through the site and through your own API keys, with no minute count. Fair use is 300 hours of audio per billing period — about 10 hours a day, pooled across you and your team members. Past that, new uploads are spaced out for the rest of the period, queued behind other customers’ work; nothing is refused and nothing is charged extra. Chat is unlimited for now. 100 GB of storage is included, then $3 per extra 100 GB a month, measured at the end of each billing period. Bulk archives and automated pipelines at scale belong on a Business API plan.
Yes. On your credits page, add up to 4 team members by email. Each signs in with their own email and transcribes on your plan’s pooled hours; nothing is charged to them. Their work in your Library, or private to each of them. You choose. In your Library, each one is marked with who made it. Your transcripts stay private to you, and members never see each other’s work. Remove a member any time; what is in your Library stays there. Custom configuration? Email contact@whipscribe.com. The whole picture, with examples for businesses, study groups and research teams, is on the Teams page.
You keep them. While Workspace is active nothing is deducted from your balance; your credits and the subscription show separately on your credits page. If you ever cancel, the credits are still there, unchanged.
It stops renewing and stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Your transcripts, exports and audio stay in your library; from then on transcription runs on credits, like any pack.
Paid accounts: your library — transcripts, original audio, exports — is maintained for as long as you have credits or an active plan, and for 12 months after. Free accounts: we don’t warehouse data you’ve walked away from — files auto-delete 90 days after your last activity. We email you twice before anything is removed, and simply signing in resets the clock. Private by design, both ways.
Never. Packs are a one-time payment. The yearly plan is also a single payment — you pay once for the year and 2,000 (or 5,000) fresh minutes are added to your account each month. No card-on-file, no surprise charges; when the year ends, renewing is your choice. Workspace is the one thing that renews, and it says so on the card.
One payment covers 12 months. Your first 2,000 minutes (5,000 on Team) land immediately, and a fresh batch is added every month — unused plan minutes roll over, up to 3× your monthly allowance. That works out to $8/month on Pro — a third less than paying monthly.
Never. We don't use your recordings or transcripts to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any AI model — ours or anyone else's. Transcription runs on Neugence-owned GPUs; nothing is sent to OpenAI, Google, AWS, Deepgram, Rev, or any third-party AI provider.
All prices are in USD, and checkout runs through Paddle, which shows the total in your currency and adds any sales tax your country requires before you pay. Card and Google Pay work everywhere Paddle does.
We keep your audio and transcript only as long as needed to deliver the job and let you retrieve it. Ask us to delete sooner at contact@neugence.ai.
Portable memory is a private memory you can talk to.
Your meetings, interviews, voice notes, trainings, and other recordings become part of one growing memory in WhipScribe. Later, you can open ChatGPT, Claude, or another supported assistant and simply ask questions in your own words:
You do not have to organize everything perfectly or remember which file something came from. WhipScribe keeps the history, and your AI can talk with that memory when you need it.
It can also take you back to the original conversation, so you can see or hear the exact moment behind the answer.
Your memory stays with you in WhipScribe, not inside one AI. Use ChatGPT today, Claude tomorrow, and keep the same history.
Record once. Remember for years. Talk to it anytime.
