Who shares a plan

The same plan fits three very different groups. In each one, the people who do the uploading are not always the person who needs the transcript.

Small businesses and agencies

Assistants, virtual assistants and interns upload the client calls, discovery sessions and weekly meetings. Each transcript shows up in the owner’s Library the moment it is done, with the summary, chapters and chat ready to read. By default the owner sees everything; set the team to private and each member’s work stays theirs. Members never see the owner’s own recordings.

ExampleA two-person agency adds its virtual assistant and a part-time editor. The assistant uploads every client call from their own login; the owner reads the briefs in one Library and pays one $19 bill.

Student and study groups

Five people share one $19 plan for lectures, interviews and seminars. Each keeps their own library under their own login; the person who pays can see all of it and search across every recording the group has made, or the group can keep each person’s work private. Credits any member already holds are never touched.

ExampleA cohort of five splits a semester of lectures. Whoever is in the room records and uploads; the plan owner has every lecture transcribed in one place before exams.

Research and small teams

Interview studies, field recordings and oral histories, collected by several people and read by one. Research assistants upload from the field under their own logins; the principal investigator’s Library can hold the whole corpus, searchable and exportable as Word, TXT, SRT or VTT, or each assistant’s work can stay private to them.

ExampleThree assistants run interviews in three cities. Each uploads their own recordings; the lead researcher sees all of them, marked by who made each one, and nothing assistants should not see.

How it works

Four steps, no invitations to chase. A member is live the moment their email is on the list.

  1. Start Workspace

Subscribe from this page or from pricing. The plan is on your account the moment payment clears.

  2. Open your Credits page

Sign in and open Credits. Under your plan you will find the Team card with your seats: Seats 0 of 4.

  3. Add an email

Type a team member’s email in the Team card and press Add. Use the address they sign in with. You can add up to 4, and remove anyone later from the same card.

  4. They sign in and transcribe

The member signs in at whipscribe.com with that email, uploads or records as usual, and everything they make runs on your plan. It appears in your Library with a “by” chip, unless you have set members’ work to private in the same card.

What it costs

Questions

How many people can share one Workspace plan?

Five: the person who pays, plus up to 4 team members. Every member signs in with their own email address and transcribes on the one plan. There is no per-seat fee; the plan is $19 a month whether one person or five use it.

Who sees which transcripts?

You choose, on the Team card of your Credits page. With Visible to me, the default, the owner sees every transcript a member makes, each marked with who made it. With Private to each member, a member’s new transcripts stay private to them. Either way a member sees only their own work, and members never see the owner’s transcripts or each other’s. The setting applies to new recordings; existing transcripts stay as they are.

What does unlimited mean when five people share it?

Files, links and recordings of any length, with no minute count, for everyone on the plan. Fair use is 300 hours of audio per billing period, pooled across the whole team. Past that, new uploads are spaced out for the rest of the period, queued behind other customers’ work; nothing is refused and nothing is charged extra.

Is anything charged to a team member?

No. Members are never billed and their own credits, if they have any, are never touched. Everything they transcribe runs on the owner’s plan.

What happens when I remove someone?

They stop transcribing on your plan straight away. Whatever of theirs is in your Library stays there, and they keep their own copy under their own login. A freed seat can be given to someone else after a 30-day cooling period.

Can a member belong to two teams, or run their own Workspace?

An email can be a member of one Workspace at a time, and an email that owns its own Workspace cannot be added as a member elsewhere. The page tells you in plain words if an address cannot be added.

What happens to the team if I cancel?

The plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and so does the team. When it ends, members stop transcribing on your plan; your transcripts, exports and audio stay in your Library, and so does whatever of your members’ is already there.

Can you set up something custom for our team?

Yes, we provide custom configuration. Email contact@whipscribe.com and tell us what your team needs.
