What it is
Amazon Lex is the AWS conversational-AI platform powering Amazon Connect contact-center bots and many AWS customer's text and voice chatbots. The product handles intent detection, slot filling, and dialogue management with integrations to Amazon Polly for text-to-speech and Amazon Transcribe for speech-to-text. Pricing is per-request pay-as-you-go; voice requests cost more than text. Lex is one of three major cloud conversational-AI platforms alongside Google Dialogflow and Microsoft Azure Bot Service.
