Transcribe family and estate recordings and keep every word.
To transcribe a long family recording — a grandparent telling their story, a digitised cassette, or a two-hour meeting about an estate — drop the file or paste a Google Drive link in the box below. One file can run up to 10 hours or 5 GB, it takes about 2 minutes per hour of audio, the summary is free to read, and a pack from $4 (500 minutes) opens the full transcript.
What you get
The recordings a family keeps are long, old and personal. That is what this handles.
Hours of tape, one upload
Join the sides of a cassette or a run of voice memos into one file of up to 10 hours and 5 GB, and it comes back as one transcript. Files over 500 MB continue on the upload page.
Find the moment, not the hour
Every transcript comes with chapters that carry timestamps, plus the names, dates, places and figures that were said, so you can find where a house, an account or a relative came up without listening again.
Private by design
Recordings are transcribed on our own servers, are never sent to a third-party AI service and are never used to train any model. Delete a recording and its transcript whenever you want.
Text the whole family can read
Download the transcript as DOCX to print or share, TXT to paste into a family history, or SRT to caption a video of the recording. Ask the chat over the transcript where a topic came up.
Export
One transcript. Five clean formats.
Every pack exports all five — no format is held back for a higher tier.
Plain text
De-ummed paragraphs. Ready to paste.
SRT captions
Word-level. Every video editor reads this.

FAQ
What families ask before they upload.
How do I transcribe an old family recording?
Digitise it first if it is on tape (any MP3, WAV or M4A file works), then drop the file in the box on this page or paste a Google Drive link. One file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB; files over 500 MB continue on the upload page. It takes about 2 minutes per hour of audio.
How much does it cost to transcribe a 2-hour recording?
Two hours is 120 minutes. The summary is free to read, and the $4 pack of 500 minutes opens the full transcript with enough left for about two more hours after that. Larger packs are $8 for 1,000 minutes, $12 for 2,000 and $24 for 5,000; credits never expire.
Can I use the transcript for probate or a legal dispute?
It is a working transcript made by software, useful for reading, searching and quoting a recording. It is not a certified transcript. If a court or lawyer asks for a certified one, use a certified transcriber; this one helps you find the passages that matter first.
Is the recording kept private?
Yes. It is transcribed on our own servers, never sent to a third-party AI service, and never used to train, fine-tune or evaluate any model. You can delete the recording and its transcript at any time, and deleting the account removes every record tied to the email.
Does it work if relatives speak another language, or switch languages?
It recognises 99+ languages automatically, and the transcript stays in the language that was spoken. It does not translate. Check passages where people switch language mid-sentence or talk over each other against the audio.
Does the transcript say who is speaking?
No. The transcript is punctuated and timestamped but not split by speaker, so a conversation reads as one continuous text. Add names by hand in the DOCX export if you need them.
