Portuguese interviews · entrevistas

Transcribe Portuguese interviews, turn by turn.

Upload the recording or paste a link. The entrevista comes back as Portuguese text — what was said, in the language it was said in — with each turn marked in the transcript view and every word timed. Files over 500 MB continue on the upload page. A pack from $4 opens the full transcript · packs from $4 for 500 minutes.

How it works

From the recorded entrevista to a page of text.

One file per interview keeps a project easy to search later.

1

Send it in

Drop the recording into the box above or paste a link. Up to 500 MB goes in directly; longer sessions continue on the upload page, up to 10 hours or 5 GB.

2

Read the exchange

Each turn is marked with a numbered speaker label in the transcript view, so the interviewer and the person answering stay visibly apart.

3

Verify and export

Click a word to hear it in place, then export TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT, MD or JSON.

Which Portuguese

Brazil and Portugal in one inbox.

Nothing is chosen per variety before you upload, but the two are not equally easy.

Both varieties, one pass

A researcher in Lisbon interviewing someone in Recife is a single recording. Both voices are written as Portuguese, and the spelling follows the speaker.

European Portuguese is the harder half

European speech reduces unstressed vowels until words run together, where a Brazilian speaker sounds them in full. A Lisbon interview usually needs more checking than a São Paulo one.

Você, tu and o senhor

Forms of address are written as spoken. When the formality of the exchange is part of what you are analysing, it survives into the text intact.

Angola, Mozambique and beyond

Recordings from Luanda or Maputo transcribe as Portuguese. Room noise and microphone distance cost far more accuracy than the variety does.

What you get back

Made for interviews you have to quote.

Fieldwork, journalism and long conversations.

Labels in the view, not the file

Numbered labels separate the turns on screen. TXT, DOCX, SRT and VTT download as words alone; JSON is the export that keeps the speaker of every segment.

Three hours, free to read

Packs from $4, credits never expire and readable in full, at any length, which covers most entrevistas without buying anything.

Timestamps on every word

Click a line to hear it before it goes into a paper or an article. Names and numbers are the usual things a second listen rescues.

Accents written in

ã, õ and ç come out as the language requires, so the transcript can be searched and quoted without a pass of manual repair.

FAQ

Portuguese interview transcription, answered.

Does a Portuguese interview come back in Portuguese?

Yes. The transcript is the Portuguese that was spoken, written out. It is not converted into English — Portuguese audio produces Portuguese text.

Does it handle both Brazilian and European Portuguese?

Both, without a setting. European speech is the harder of the two because unstressed vowels are reduced heavily, so allow more review time for a recording made in Portugal.

Are the interviewer and the respondent separated?

In the transcript view, yes: every turn carries a numbered speaker label. The labels are numbers, not names.

Do downloaded files keep the speaker labels?

No. TXT, DOCX, SRT and VTT contain the words without them. JSON is the one export that records which speaker said each segment.

How long can an entrevista be?

Up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file. The box on this page takes 500 MB, and anything larger continues on the upload page.

What if the conversation moves into English or Spanish?

Each stretch is written in the language it was actually spoken in. Nothing is translated in any direction.

Which export should I use for analysis?

DOCX or TXT for reading and coding, MD for a plain-text workflow, and JSON when the speaker and timing of each segment must travel with the words.
