Voice memo summary the point of a long voice note, fast
Short answer. Share the voice memo to Whipscribe or drop the M4A, OPUS or MP3 file here. You get the transcript, and when the memo has at least a minute of speech, a summary, key points, quotes and the names and numbers in it. Shorter memos get the transcript only: in our last 28 days, 206 of 977 recordings were too short to summarize. A 5-minute memo uses 5 of the 500 minutes in the $4 pack.

Free and paid
What the free preview includes
Every recording starts with a free preview of its opening minutes; a pack from $4 (500 minutes) transcribes the rest and opens every export.
Pay for a recording and its summary, chapters and questions are always written from the whole transcript.
On a free preview, recordings of an hour or more, and recordings from many countries, get the summary too, with chapters and questions past the preview blurred until you open the rest. Otherwise the Intelligence tab shows the pack offer.
Nothing opens by itself: the pack offer is a card you can read or ignore.
Honest limits
What it will not do
A summary needs at least a minute of speech. In the 28 days to 26 October 2026, 206 of 977 recordings were too short, and 25 more had no usable speech (music, silence or a looping line); those get the transcript only.
A summary is written by an AI model from the automatic transcript. It can miss nuance or get a detail wrong, so check anything you will rely on against its timestamp.
Names in the summary and quotes are inferred from what people say. Check them before you publish.
A memo needs at least a minute of speech for a summary; shorter ones get the transcript only.
Wind, traffic and a phone in a pocket lower transcript quality, and the summary can only be as good as the transcript.
One file holds up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Nothing joins a live call; you upload the recording or paste a link.
The summary is text on the page; there is no spoken version.
Questions people ask first
Voice memo summary, answered
Can I get a summary of an iPhone voice memo?
Yes. Save the memo to Files, upload the M4A here, and memos with a minute or more of speech get a summary, key points and quotes.
Why did my short memo get no summary?
Memos under about a minute of speech are not summarized; the transcript is already short enough to read.
Does it work with WhatsApp voice notes?
Yes. Forward or export the voice note and upload the OPUS or OGG file. You can also send recordings to Whipscribe on WhatsApp.
