Is my long recording used for training? no, not for training, tuning or testing.
No: your recording is transcribed on our own servers and is never used to train, fine-tune or evaluate any model, and the audio is not sent to a third-party AI service. That holds for every file up to the 10-hour or 5 GB limit (2 GB before the first pack), processed at about 2 minutes per audio hour, with the first 20 minutes free; a 4-hour recording uses 240 of the 500 minutes in the $6 pack.
Why the question matters more for long files
A long recording holds more than a short one, so the answer has to be plain.
Hours of other people's words
A four-hour interview, a full board meeting or a day of research sessions carries names, figures and opinions from people who agreed to be recorded, not to feed a model. Those recordings are never used to train, fine-tune or evaluate one, whether they last ten minutes or ten hours.
The audio stays with us
Transcription runs on our own servers. The audio is not handed to an outside AI service to be turned into text, so the recording is not copied into another company's systems along the way.
Remove it when the work is done
Delete a recording and its transcript from your Library at any time. Deleting the account removes every record tied to your email. For research or client work, a simple routine is to export the transcript, then delete the source.
What we do not claim
We do not claim a compliance certification. If your organisation needs one for a particular project, check its policy first; what we can state is how recordings are handled: transcribed on our own servers and never used for training.
Two kinds of terms
Terms that leave room for training versus terms that rule it out.
✗ Training allowed somewhere in the fine print
A clause about improving the service can cover your recording.
- Recordings may be reviewed to improve models
- Opt-out buried in account settings
- Audio passed to an outside AI provider
- No way to delete one file
- Unclear what happens to old uploads
- Hard to explain to the people you recorded
✓ Training ruled out, stated plainly
The same answer for every file, short or long.
- Never used to train, fine-tune or evaluate
- Transcribed on our own servers
- Audio not sent to a third-party AI service
- Delete a recording and its transcript
- Account deletion removes every record
- Easy to explain to participants
Sample output
The kind of recording this question is usually about.
Illustrative only, not a real recording: four lines from a long research interview, with the opening consent reminder.

FAQ
Questions about training and long recordings.
Is any part of my recording used to improve your models?
No. Recordings are never used to train, fine-tune or evaluate any model. That covers the audio and the transcript made from it.
Where is the audio transcribed?
On our own servers. The audio is not sent to a third-party AI service for transcription.
Can I remove the recording after I have the transcript?
Yes. Delete it from your Library at any time and the recording and its transcript go together. Deleting your account removes every record tied to your email.
Does the length of the recording change anything?
No. The same handling applies to a short memo and to a ten-hour file. One file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, and a file over 2 GB starts once a pack is on your account.
What does a long private recording cost?
You get the first 20 minutes free. A 4-hour recording is 240 minutes and fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes; eight hours is 480 minutes and still fits. Ten hours is 600 minutes, which needs the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. Credits never expire.
What do I get back, and how fast?
About 2 minutes of processing per audio hour, so a 4-hour file takes roughly 8 minutes. You get a brief, chapters with timestamps, the names, numbers and dates said, a chat over the transcript, and TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON exports.
