Transcribe a 100-minute lecture A double period as searchable notes.
A 100-minute lecture, often two 50-minute periods taught back to back, is transcribed in about 3 minutes 20 seconds and uses 100 of the 500 minutes in the $6 pack. Five such lectures fit in one pack, a 13-week term of weekly 100-minute lectures (1,300 minutes) fits the $12 pack with 700 minutes spare, and the first 20 minutes are free.
One double period
From lecture recording to revision notes.
Where the recording comes from
Usually it is the lecture-capture video your course page lets you download, often an MP4, or audio from your phone at the front of the room. Transcribe what the lecturer allows you to download or record; this page is about the file you already have, not about getting around a setting.
How long it takes and what it costs
Processing runs close to 2 minutes per audio hour, so the lecture is text before you have found a seat in the library. It uses 100 minutes of the $6 pack, and 100 minutes is the length we see most among paid uploads, so the pack is sized well for it.
The size of a lecture file
A phone voice recording at 64 kbps is about 48 MB for 100 minutes. A lecture-capture video at 1.5 Mbps is about 1.1 GB, which still fits under the 2 GB allowed before a pack. The box takes 500 MB; heavier files go through the upload page.
What you study from
Chapters follow the topics as they were taught, each with a timestamp you can jump back to. The brief gives the thesis and takeaways, the definitions, dates and numbers said aloud are listed, and the chat answers a question like what the lecturer said about the second example.
Reviewing a long class
Scrubbing video versus reading notes.
✗ Rewatching to find one point
A 100-minute recording is easy to save and slow to use. Finding the five minutes on one topic means scrubbing through the whole thing.
- Scrubbing a timeline for one definition
- Handwritten notes that thin out after an hour
- Auto captions that cannot be searched offline
- Questions from the room lost to the mic
- No list of what will be examined
- Two periods saved as one long file
✓ A lecture you can search
The whole double period as text, with chapters and a summary on top.
- Every word searchable in one file
- A new chapter wherever the topic turns
- Dates, names and formulas listed
- The whole class as text in under 4 minutes
- DOCX for annotating, TXT for flashcards
- Five lectures from one $6 pack

FAQ
100-minute lectures, answered.
How long does a 100-minute lecture take to transcribe?
Roughly 3 minutes 20 seconds after the upload completes. A phone recording uploads in seconds on campus Wi-Fi; a lecture-capture video of a gigabyte or so takes longer to send than to transcribe.
What does a term of 100-minute lectures cost?
One lecture uses 100 minutes, so the $6 pack (500 minutes) covers five with nothing left over. A weekly 100-minute lecture over 13 weeks is 1,300 minutes, which fits the $12 pack (2,000 minutes) with 700 minutes spare for a second course. The first 20 minutes are free for a first-time visitor, and credits never expire between terms.
Will the lecture video be too large?
Rarely. Each file may run to 10 hours or 5 GB; before any pack is bought, the ceiling is 2 GB. If a lecture-capture download is larger, either buy the pack first or upload only the audio, which is a small fraction of the size.
The lecture was saved as two files. Should I join them?
No need. Upload both; each gets its own transcript and chapters. If you prefer one document, upload them one after the other and combine the DOCX exports, which keep their timestamps.
Can the lecture be in a language other than English?
Yes. 99 languages are detected automatically, so a lecture in Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish or Hebrew needs no setting. A class that moves between English and Tagalog is handled, and a regional Philippine language such as Cebuano comes back as a fast first draft you should review once.
What can I export, and who sees my lecture recording?
Lecture notes download as DOCX or TXT, captions as SRT or VTT, and data as JSON. Recorded lectures are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
