Transcribe a 3-hour focus group before the debrief call tomorrow morning.
A 3-hour focus group is 180 minutes of crosstalk, and it comes back as timestamped text in about 6 minutes; the room audio is usually 150 to 200 MB as an MP3, while a facility's video of the session often runs 1 to 2 GB, well inside the 5 GB a file can be. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.
Why three-hour groups are different
Extended sessions hold the exercises, the stimulus and the second wind. All of it comes back as text.
Built for the long format
Extended groups, co-creation sessions and consumer immersions run to three hours because they include tasks, a break and a second round of probing. The whole file is processed at about 2 minutes per audio hour, so the moderator can read the session the same evening instead of waiting days for a typed copy.
Chapters that match the guide
Warm-up, first impressions, the concept boards, the break, the trade-off exercise, the wrap-up. Timestamped chapters usually land on those blocks, which makes it quick to open the same exercise across every group in the study and compare reactions side by side.
Voices named where it matters
Eight people interrupting each other is the hardest audio there is. The moderator and the participants are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters; where two people talk at once, listen to the timestamp before a line goes onto a slide.
Ask the transcript, not the tape
The chat answers questions across the whole three hours, such as which objections came up about price or what the group said after seeing the second concept. Each answer points back to the moment it came from, and DOCX or JSON exports go straight into your coding workflow.
The usual turnaround problem
Three hours with eight people can take a typist the better part of a week.
✗ Waiting for the typed copy
Fieldwork finishes on Thursday; the transcripts arrive after the report was due.
- Days of typing per extended group
- Free tiers that stop during the warm-up
- The second half typed by someone else
- Quotes pulled without their minute
- Exercises hard to find again
- Debriefs run from memory
✓ Reading it that night
Each session is back as text with chapters and timestamps before anyone has left the facility.
- About 6 minutes per three-hour group
- a free preview of the opening minutes to check the crosstalk
- Chapters by exercise and section
- Participants named in the summary
- Quotes with timestamps for the deck
- Packs from $4 for 300 minutes

FAQ
Three-hour focus groups, the questions researchers ask.
How fast does a 3-hour group come back?
In about 6 minutes, since each hour of audio takes roughly 2 minutes. If fieldwork runs three groups in a day, all three can be read before dinner.
What does a full study cost?
One three-hour group uses 180 minutes of the $4 pack of 300.
The facility sent a video over 2 GB. What now?
A 1080p recording of three hours can pass 2 GB. Files up to 5 GB upload with or without a pack, so the video can go as it is, or export the audio track, which is around 170 MB as an MP3.
Our groups were online. Can I use the Zoom or Teams recording?
Yes. Upload the MP4 or the audio-only file the platform saved, or paste a Google Drive share link if the recording sits there. No bot joins the live session; this works on the recording afterwards.
We ran groups in several languages. Does that matter?
Each file is detected on its own, across 99 languages, so a Spanish group and a Swedish group in the same study both work. A session that switches language is detected on its main language; read the passages in the other language closely.
Where does the participant audio go?
It is transcribed on our own servers and never used for training any model. Exports are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, and you can delete each session and its transcript once the analysis is signed off.
