Transcribe a 3-hour product demo and turn the walkthrough into docs.

A 3-hour product demo is 180 minutes of audio and comes back as text in about 6 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and a $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the rest with at least 320 minutes left, enough for the next two demos of the same length.

What a long walkthrough becomes

A three-hour demo is a product tour, a training session and a Q&A in one. The text serves all three.

Six minutes for the full tour

Long demos happen at launches, partner trainings and deep evaluations, and three hours is common once questions are counted. Processing runs at about 2 minutes per audio hour, so the full walkthrough is text in roughly 6 minutes, ready to share while the recording is still uploading to the team wiki.

A chapter for every feature

Chapters with timestamps mark each part of the walkthrough: setup, the dashboard, permissions, reporting, the integration section and the questions at the end. Product and documentation teams can lift a chapter straight into a help article and link to that minute of the video.

Captions without a second job

SRT and VTT files come from the same transcript as the text, so the demo video can carry captions on YouTube, Vimeo or an internal player without a separate job. Feature names and product terms read correctly in most cases; check unusual brand words once in the first 20 free minutes.

The questions people really asked

The brief lists the questions the recording answers, which for a demo means what attendees wanted to know: pricing tiers, data limits, rollout timing. That list is often the most honest input a product team gets, and it comes without anyone writing it down.

Why demo recordings go unwatched

Nobody rewatches three hours to find the five minutes on permissions.

✗ Just the video file

The demo is recorded, shared once and then sits in a folder because nobody can search it.

  • Three hours with no chapters
  • Answers to good questions lost in the video
  • Captions ordered separately, days later
  • Help articles rewritten from scratch
  • A free tier that stops after 30 minutes
  • Screen recordings too large for a 25 MB API limit

✓ The demo as text, chapters and captions

One upload gives the team searchable text, a chapter list and caption files from the same run.

  • Roughly 6 minutes for the walkthrough
  • First 20 minutes free
  • A chapter per feature, with timestamps
  • Audience questions in the brief
  • Caption files ready for the player
  • 320 minutes or more left from $6

00:07:31 Everything we do today starts from an empty workspace, so you can follow along on a trial account.
00:52:18 Admins can lock a report to one region. Watch what happens when I switch to a viewer in another region.
01:39:44 The export runs nightly by default, but you can trigger it from here, and it keeps ninety days of history.
02:47:02 Good question. The limit is per workspace, not per user, so a larger team doesn't hit it sooner.

FAQ

Three-hour product demos, answered.

How long does a 3-hour demo take to transcribe?

Close to 6 minutes, because processing takes about 2 minutes per audio hour. A link to a public YouTube or Vimeo recording needs no upload at all, so the time starts as soon as you paste it.

What does a 3-hour demo cost?

180 minutes. The first 20 are free for a first-time visitor, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the rest with at least 320 left. A launch week with a dozen three-hour sessions, 2,160 minutes, is a job for the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes, which also carries API access.

My screen recording is several gigabytes. Will it go through?

One file can be up to 5 GB, and files over 2 GB start once a pack is on the account. Three hours of full-HD screen capture can exceed 5 GB, so for those, export the audio track: three hours of 128 kbps MP3 is about 175 MB. Long OBS, Zoom and Loom recordings all work this way.

Do I have to cut the demo into parts?

No. A single file runs up to 10 hours or 5 GB, whichever comes first. The whole demo keeps one set of timestamps, which keeps the captions in sync with the original video.

Can I run the demo in another language?

Yes. 99 languages are detected automatically, and a demo that switches between two languages is transcribed on its main language. Product names stay as spoken.

Which formats can I export, and is the recording kept private?

Five download formats come back: TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. An unreleased product shown in a demo stays private: recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete the file once the captions are published.
