Training · 180 min · about 6 min

Transcribe a 3-hour training session and hand trainees a reference instead of a replay.

A 3-hour training session is 180 minutes of audio and turns into timestamped text in about 6 minutes; the audio alone is usually under 200 MB, while a screen-share video of the session runs to roughly 0.5 to 1.5 GB. It fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes with at least 320 minutes left, and the first 20 minutes are free.

For trainers and L&D teams

A half-day of instruction becomes a document staff can search on the job.

From the room or the call

Most sessions are saved as a Zoom or Teams recording, exported from a learning platform, or captured on a phone at the front of the room. Download the MP4 or M4A and upload it. If the session is on YouTube, Vimeo or a Google Drive share link, paste the link and nothing needs to upload.

Steps written down

Chapters follow the agenda as it ran: the overview, each demo, the practice round, the recap. The brief lists the procedures, thresholds, system names and deadlines the trainer gave, each with a timestamp so a trainee can hear the original explanation.

Ask the transcript

The chat answers questions such as which form to use for an exception or what the escalation path was, and points to the minute it was said. New starters get answers from the session itself instead of interrupting a colleague.

The training calendar

Two 3-hour sessions are 360 minutes, inside the $6 pack. A month of weekly sessions, four of them, is 720 minutes and fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 1,280 left. Thirteen weekly sessions in a quarter come to 2,340 minutes, which the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes covers.

Why training does not stick

Three hours of instruction, and the questions start again on Monday.

✗ A session nobody rewatches

The video is saved, but scrubbing three hours for one procedure takes longer than asking someone.

  • One instruction buried in hours of video
  • Slides without the explanation
  • Trainee questions answered once, then gone
  • Handouts written from memory
  • The same session repeated for every hire
  • Recordings too big for quick tools

✓ A session people reuse

The recording goes in once and returns as chapters, a brief and exports that sit in the team's handbook.

  • About 6 minutes for the full session
  • Topics and demos as chapters
  • Trainer named in the summary
  • Rules and numbers collected
  • DOCX for the handbook, SRT for captions
  • 320 minutes or more left on the pack

FAQ

Three-hour training sessions, answered.

How long does a 3-hour training session take?

Roughly 6 minutes from upload to text, at about 2 minutes per hour of audio. Silent exercise time and breaks pass quickly, since there is little speech to transcribe.

What does it cost?

180 minutes fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes and leaves at least 320. A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free; if the session is longer than that, the pack transcribes the rest from where the preview stopped. Credits never expire.

Our LMS only lets us download a video. Will it upload?

Usually, yes: MP4, MOV, WEBM, M4A, MP3 and WAV all work. Files up to 2 GB go in before a pack and up to 5 GB after. The box on this page accepts up to 500 MB, and anything larger continues on the main upload page.

Can we turn it into captions for the course video?

Yes. SRT and VTT come from the same pass as the TXT, DOCX and JSON exports, timed to the recording, so the captions line up with the video you already host.

A session ran across two recordings. What then?

Upload both; each gets its own chapters and brief. If a single recording ever runs beyond 10 hours, it has to go in as two files, but a training afternoon is nowhere near that.

Is internal training material kept private?

We transcribe recordings on our own servers and never use them for training. For a team that records sessions every week, a $19/month Workspace is also available.
