Transcribe a 4-hour training session and hand out the text, not the video.

A 4-hour training session is 240 minutes of audio and is transcribed in about 8 minutes; a Zoom or Teams recording of it is usually 0.5 to 2 GB as video and about 230 MB as audio. It uses 240 of the 500 minutes in the $6 pack, and the first 20 minutes are free to check the result.

Half a day of instruction

Nobody rewatches a four-hour training. Plenty of people search one.

From the meeting platform or the room

Most long trainings are recorded in Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, or with a camera at the back of the room. Download the recording and drop it here (files up to 500 MB) or on the upload page for heavier video; a recording already on Google Drive can be pasted as a share link.

Modules become chapters

Training runs in blocks: an overview, a demonstration, an exercise, a debrief. Chapters fall at those changes with a timestamp, so someone who missed the afternoon can open the exercise instructions without sitting through the morning.

The details people forget

The brief lists the steps, settings, deadlines and numbers the trainer said aloud, and the questions the session answers become an FAQ for the next cohort. The chat answers 'what did the trainer say about exceptions' with the moment it was said.

Priced per session, not per seat

One session uses 240 minutes of the $6 pack. Two sessions a week for a month is 1,920 minutes, inside the $12 pack of 2,000 with 80 to spare. A team that records every week can also use the $19-a-month Workspace.

After the training ends

The recording gets filed and the questions start again.

✗ The video in a shared folder

A four-hour recording is technically available and practically unused.

  • New starters told to 'watch the recording'
  • The same questions asked every cohort
  • Slides without the trainer's explanations
  • Upload limits below a half-day video
  • No way to search for one setting
  • A handout written from memory

✓ The training as a document

Searchable text with chapters and the facts pulled out.

  • About 8 minutes per session
  • Chapters per module
  • Steps and numbers with timestamps
  • Trainer and trainees named in the summary
  • A DOCX handout to edit
  • Captions for the archived video

FAQ

4-hour training sessions: questions and answers.

How long does a 4-hour training session take to transcribe?

About 8 minutes. WhipScribe processes roughly 2 minutes per audio hour, and a 9.31-hour file on the public timing page finished in 1,033 seconds.

What will a month of trainings cost?

A single session uses 240 of the 500 minutes in the $6 pack. Eight sessions in a month is 1,920 minutes and fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. A quarter's programme of fifteen sessions is 3,600 minutes and fits the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes with 1,400 left. You buy a pack once and the credits never expire.

The recording is a 2.8 GB MP4. Will it upload?

Until a pack is bought, the upload ceiling is 2 GB; anything from 2 to 5 GB begins processing the moment a pack is on the account. Zoom can also save an audio-only M4A, which for four hours is a few hundred MB and goes in straight away.

Does it join the training call?

No. Nothing joins a live call; WhipScribe works on the recording afterwards. Record as you normally do, then upload the file or paste the Drive link.

Can I use the transcript to make captions for the training video?

Yes. SRT and VTT exports carry the timestamps and can be added wherever your video player or course page accepts a caption file. TXT, DOCX and JSON are there for handouts and internal tools.

Which languages work, and does the recording stay private?

99 languages are detected automatically, and a session run in one language with English product terms is handled. Training recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for model training. A full training day beyond 10 hours goes in as two files.
