Transcribe a 4-hour workshop for the people who missed it.
A four-hour workshop is 240 minutes of audio, and it comes back as text in about 8 minutes, with the first 20 minutes free. The $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the session and keeps at least 260 minutes for the next one. Upload the recording as it is, silent exercises and breaks included.
What a half-day workshop becomes
Four hours of teaching and discussion, written up without a note-taker.
Silent stretches cost nothing in text
Workshops have quiet parts: people writing on sticky notes, a coffee break, breakout rooms that were not recorded. Those stretches produce no text, so you can upload the session as recorded without trimming anything first.
Chapters by exercise
The chapters follow the arc of the morning or afternoon: the framing talk, each exercise, the debriefs and the wrap-up. Each has a timestamp, so a colleague who missed the second exercise reads just that part.
The room's questions, collected
The brief lists the questions the workshop answered and the names, numbers and dates that came up. That list is a first draft of the follow-up email and the FAQ for the next run of the same session.
From the video call
If the workshop ran on Zoom, Teams or Meet, the saved recording uploads here directly; Teams files are downloaded first, then uploaded. Zoom can also save an audio-only M4A, which is much smaller than the video and uploads faster.
Why half a day is awkward elsewhere
A workshop is long, messy audio, and most tools expect a tidy short call.
✗ Writing it up by hand
After a long workshop, the write-up usually depends on one person's notes and a recording nobody replays.
- Notes from whoever held the pen
- Four hours of video no one rewatches
- A free tier that ends after the intro
- Trimming silences before uploading
- Questions from the room forgotten
- A write-up that lands a week later
✓ The workshop as text
The recording comes back as one transcript with the exercises separated and the questions listed.
- Around 8 minutes for the half day
- No charge for the first 20 minutes
- Chapters for each exercise
- The facilitator named in the summary and key quotes
- A list of questions for the follow-up
- DOCX ready to edit into a handout

FAQ
Four-hour workshops, the common questions.
How long does a 4-hour workshop take to transcribe?
Roughly 8 minutes at about 2 minutes per hour of audio. Start it at the end of the session and the transcript is there before the room is cleared.
What does a 4-hour workshop cost?
240 minutes from the $6 pack of 500, so at least 260 minutes stay on the account. A series of four half-day workshops is 960 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. A team that runs sessions every week may prefer the $19 a month Workspace instead of packs.
How large is the recording, and will it upload?
Four hours of audio as an MP3 is around 230 MB. A screen recording or camera video of the same length is often 2 to 4 GB. Up to 2 GB uploads before the first pack and up to 5 GB once a pack is on the account.
We broke for lunch and restarted the recording. Do I send both files?
Either works. If you have two files, send both; each comes back with its own clock. If the recorder ran through the break, keep it as one file, since one file can be up to 10 hours.
Participants spoke different languages. What happens?
Detection covers 99 languages with no setting, and the workshop is detected on its main language. If most of the workshop is in one language with short contributions in another, read those contributions closely.
Which formats can I download, and is the workshop kept private?
Every run gives TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, so an internal workshop stays internal.
