Workshop · 420 min · about 14 min

Transcribe a 7-hour workshop and send the outcomes out the same evening.

A 7-hour workshop is 420 minutes of audio and comes back as timestamped text in about 14 minutes; the audio runs about 200 to 400 MB, while a full video of the day can reach 3 to 6 GB, so the audio track is often the better upload. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.

For facilitators and project leads

A long working day, turned into outcomes people can act on.

Recorded however the day ran

A workshop is usually recorded on a Zoom or Teams call, a conference speakerphone, or a phone in the middle of the table. Upload the audio or video, or paste a Google Drive, YouTube or Vimeo link. The box here takes up to 500 MB; larger files continue on the main upload page.

When the video is too big

Seven hours of 1080p video can pass 5 GB, the limit for one file. Export the audio track from your recording app or editor (menus vary by version) and upload that instead: the speech is the same and the file is a fraction of the size.

Outcomes, not just words

Chapters split the opening input, each breakout report-back and the closing plenary. The brief lists the decisions, owners, dates and numbers mentioned, and the chat answers questions like what was agreed on the timeline, with the timestamp.

Workshop arithmetic

One 7-hour day uses 420 of the 3,000 minutes in the $18 pack of 3,000 minutes. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.

Why workshop outcomes slip

Seven hours of work, and the flipcharts are all that leave the room.

✗ Flipcharts and photos

Outcomes survive as phone pictures of sticky notes, with the reasoning behind them gone.

  • Breakout reports half captured
  • Who agreed to what, unclear
  • Deadlines remembered differently
  • A day of audio nobody replays
  • Write-ups that take a week
  • Files too long for most tools

✓ The day in text

The recording goes in after the session and comes back with chapters, a brief and exports ready to circulate.

  • About 14 minutes for 420 minutes
  • Breakouts and plenaries as chapters
  • Facilitator named in the summary
  • Actions and dates listed
  • DOCX for the outcomes note
  • 80 minutes or more left on the pack

00:09:05 Here's the plan: three rounds of breakouts, each followed by a short report back to the whole room.
02:14:30 Group two's priority is the supplier review, and they want it finished before the end of the quarter.
04:40:15 Let's vote with dots. Each of you has three, and you can put them all on one option.
06:51:50 Actions are on the board. The owner for each one sends an update by the fifteenth.

FAQ

Seven-hour workshops: practical questions.

How long does a 7-hour workshop take to transcribe?

About 14 minutes, since processing runs at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. Breakout silence and long pauses add very little.

Does 420 minutes fit one pack?

Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes. The opening minutes are a free preview, and the pack transcribes the rest from where the preview ended. Credits never expire.

The breakout rooms were recorded separately. What then?

Upload each room as its own file; each gets its own brief and chapters. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.

Is there a length limit for one file?

One file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, whichever comes first. A 7-hour audio file is well inside both. Uploads go up to 5 GB, even before a pack.

Can it cope with a noisy room?

Speech close to the microphone comes through well. Music, applause and background noise are not transcribed; the speech is. Cross-talk in a busy breakout may lose words, so place the phone near the people talking.

Is a workshop recording kept confidential?

Workshop audio is transcribed on our own servers and is never used for training. There is also a $19/month Workspace for a team that records sessions every week.
