Transcribe the academic conference from Israel, talk by talk.
An academic conference session recorded in Israel transcribes in about 2 minutes per hour, so a 90-minute panel takes about 3 minutes and a seven-hour room day about 14. The first 20 minutes are free, one room day of 420 minutes fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and two days across three rooms, 2,520 minutes, fit the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes.
From the lecture hall to the proceedings
Every talk was recorded. The organisers now need words, not video.
Sessions in either language
A Hebrew keynote, an English panel with visiting scholars and a session that moves between the two are each detected on their main language, with the switches handled.
Named by talk
The chapters split the session at each presentation and at the discussion, and the summary names the chair, the presenters and the respondents.
The whole conference, counted
Two days of seven hours in each of three rooms is 42 hours, or 2,520 minutes. That is beyond the $12 pack, so the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes covers it at about $0.29 an hour.
One file per room, or per talk
A room recorded all day can go up as a single file of up to 10 hours. Talks already cut and posted to YouTube or Vimeo are pasted as links on upload page.
Where conference video ends up
The video is archived, and the discussion that followed each paper is lost.
✗ Hours of archived video
Recordings exist for every room, but nobody reads a video.
- Dozens of hours per conference
- Discussion after each paper never written up
- Proceedings that rely on speakers' own notes
- No search across sessions and rooms
- Hebrew sessions closed to visiting readers
- Files too large for the department share
✓ Text for every room
Each session becomes a document that editors and participants can use.
- A room day back in about a quarter of an hour
- Hebrew and English detected per session
- Chapters at each talk and discussion
- Names, figures and citations in the brief
- Chat to find where a question was raised
- DOCX for editors, SRT for the video archive

FAQ
Academic conferences in Israel: common questions.
How long does a conference day take?
About 14 minutes for a seven-hour room day. The public long-files proof page records a 2.48-hour file finishing in 200 seconds and a 4.94-hour file in 372, so a single panel is back within minutes of the upload.
What will the conference cost?
One room day of seven hours is 420 minutes, which fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Two days across three rooms is 2,520 minutes and goes on the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. Prices are in US dollars, and credits carry over to next year's event.
The room recordings are huge video files. Will they upload?
Each conference file is limited to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before the first pack, uploads are capped at 2 GB; a larger file starts once a pack is on the account. Video at 5 megabits a second is about 2.25 GB an hour, so a long HD day may need to be split or converted to MP3 first.
Do Hebrew and English sessions need different settings?
No. Both are among 99 languages detected automatically, and each recording is detected on its main language with the switches handled.
Can speakers check their own talks?
Yes. Send each presenter the DOCX of their session, with the chapter timestamps, so they can correct names and technical terms before anything is published. Editors of a proceedings volume or a special issue usually find that the discussion after each paper is the part worth keeping, and it is otherwise never written down.
Which files come out, and how is the audio handled?
Every session can be downloaded as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON, one file per talk or per room. Conference recordings are processed on our own servers and never used for training.
