Transcribe an Afrikaans lecture before the next class.
A recorded Afrikaans university lecture of 90 minutes is transcribed in about 3 minutes, and a 3-hour block lecture in about 6, with Afrikaans recognised automatically. The first 20 minutes are free, and a $6 pack of 500 minutes covers five lectures of 100 minutes each.
For students and lecturers
The whole Afrikaans lecture as text you can search the night before the test.
Revision from the lecturer's own words
Search the transcript for the term the lecturer kept repeating and jump to the timestamp where it was explained. That beats scrubbing through a 2-hour recording on a phone with a weak connection.
Sections, not one long wall
Chapters split the lecture where the topic changes, so the theory, the worked example and the test announcements each sit under their own heading with a time.
Recordings the lecturer shares
Transcribe the recordings your lecturer lets you download or links in the course page. A large video file from a lecture hall camera goes through upload page.
A study pack from one run
The brief gives the thesis of the lecture and its takeaways, and the questions it answers become a ready list to test yourself with before the exam.
Why Afrikaans lecture notes fall behind
Most tools assume English, then stop when the lecture passes the hour mark.
✗ Pausing and typing
Notes taken by hand from a recording cost about three hours of typing for every hour of lecture, and the second half of the term never gets done.
- Typing while the recording pauses
- Apps tuned for English lecturers
- Lectures cut into 30-minute parts
- Afrikaans terms misheard as English
- Recordings left unwatched until exams
- Notes with no time to check against
✓ One upload per lecture
The full lecture goes in and the text comes back while you make coffee.
- A 90-minute class back in about 3 minutes
- Afrikaans recognised with no menu
- Chapters with timestamps
- Definitions and dates listed
- Ask the chat what the lecturer said on a topic
- Credits that wait for next semester

FAQ
Afrikaans lecture recordings, answered.
How long does a 90-minute Afrikaans lecture take to transcribe?
About 3 minutes. Processing runs at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio whatever the language, so a 3-hour block lecture is ready in about 6 and a 45-minute tutorial in under 2. That speed matters in a test week: send Monday's lecture over lunch and revise from the text the same afternoon, instead of waiting for a classmate's notes.
What does a semester of Afrikaans lectures cost?
One module with thirteen weekly lectures of 90 minutes is 1,170 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with room for tutorials. Two such modules come to 2,340 minutes, which is the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. Credits never expire, so what is left carries into the next semester. All lecture-pack prices on this page are US dollars. Students often split one pack with a study group, each sending the lectures they attended; the minutes come off one account, so agree who uploads which week.
Do I need to tell it the lecture is in Afrikaans?
No. Afrikaans is one of 99 languages detected automatically. When a lecturer switches to English for a quote or a technical term, the recording is detected on its main language and the switch is handled in the text. Afrikaans technical vocabulary in law, theology, agriculture or engineering is transcribed as spoken; check unusual terms and the spelling of names once against the timestamp before an assignment quotes them.
Will a big lecture-hall video upload?
A lecture file may run to 10 hours or 5 GB. Until the first pack is bought, the upload ceiling is 2 GB; anything larger starts once a pack sits on the account. An audio-only copy is far smaller if your recorder offers one. If the recording is a video of slides, the audio track is what gets transcribed, so the words the lecturer says about a slide come through while the slide text itself does not.
Can I transcribe a lecture someone else recorded?
Transcribe what you have permission to use: a recording the lecturer shares, posts on the course page or allows you to download. The transcript is for your own study. Many lecturers are glad to share a recording when asked, particularly for students who learn better from text or who were absent for a valid reason.
What do I download, and who else hears the lecture?
Downloads are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, so notes, captions and data all come from the one lecture. Lectures are processed on our own servers, they are never used to train a model, and you can delete any recording from your Library. Lecturers who share their own recordings can also post the SRT file as captions, which helps students who follow Afrikaans better by reading than by listening.
