1 to 3 hour balados · paste the feed · first 20 min free

Transcribe a French podcast show notes from the balado itself.

A French-language podcast from Canada, a balado, often runs 1 to 3 hours an episode, and a 2-hour episode comes back here as French text in about 4 minutes. Paste the RSS feed or upload the file; the first 20 minutes are free, and a season of ten 2-hour episodes, 1,200 minutes, fits on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.

What the episode becomes

A long balado in French, turned into show notes, chapters and a searchable archive.

RSS feed, YouTube link or file

Paste the podcast's RSS feed or the YouTube upload of the episode, or drop the file on upload page. A 3-hour episode is one file; the limit is 10 hours or 5 GB.

Timestamped topics for the episode page

Chapters with start times follow the conversation's topics. Paste them into the episode description and listeners can jump to the part they came for.

Guests and references

Guests are named in the summary and the key quotes, and the books, places, dates and numbers mentioned are listed, ready for the links section of your notes. For an interview show, that list becomes the guest's biography line and the reading list in one pass.

Ask the episode

Ask the chat where a topic came up in an episode and it returns the passage with its time, which settles the question of which minute to clip into a promo post.

Why show notes lag behind

Writing notes for a two-hour conversation means listening to it again.

✗ Notes written by ear

Hosts relisten at speed and still miss references.

  • Chapter times guessed by ear
  • Guest quotes paraphrased
  • Tools set up for English
  • Per-file caps on long episodes
  • Seat-based plans for a two-person show
  • Episodes nobody can search

✓ Show notes written from the text

Each episode as French text with chapters.

  • Two hours of balado in about 4 minutes
  • RSS and YouTube links pasted
  • Episodes up to 10 hours each
  • Each guest named in brief and quotes
  • References listed
  • SRT captions for the video cut

FAQ

French podcast transcription, the common questions.

How long does a 2-hour balado take?

About 4 minutes; a 3-hour episode about 6. Processing runs at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio, whether you paste a feed or upload a file.

What does a season of balado cost?

Ten 2-hour episodes come to 1,200 minutes, inside the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. A back catalogue of forty 1-hour episodes, 2,400 minutes, fits the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. Each pack is a one-time USD purchase.

My balado mixes French with English expressions. Does that cause trouble?

No. French is detected automatically, one of 99 languages, and an episode that slips into English for a phrase is detected on its main language with the switches handled. Read proper names over once before you publish the notes.

Do I need to split a 3-hour episode?

No. One file holds up to 10 hours or 5 GB; before a first pack, uploads stop at 2 GB. Only an episode longer than 10 hours goes in as two files. Video episodes recorded in a studio app are usually MP4; check the export settings if the file seems larger than expected.

Is the music in the intro transcribed?

No. Theme music, jingles and sound effects are left out; the speech is transcribed. A cold open or an ad read spoken by the host is speech, so it does appear in the text, where it is easy to delete before publishing.

Which files does an episode give, and is it private?

TXT and DOCX for notes and the website, SRT and VTT for video captions, JSON for your own tools. Every balado you send is transcribed on our own servers and is never used for training.
