Turn grand rounds recordings into study text for teaching and study.
A recorded grand rounds session of about an hour is transcribed in roughly 2 minutes, with chapters, the main teaching points and the studies the speaker cited. The first 20 minutes are free, and eight 1-hour sessions, 480 minutes, fit on the $6 pack of 500 minutes; this is for training and study, not a medical device and nothing to do with patient care.
What a teaching session turns into
A lecture you attended between shifts, readable when you have ten minutes.
Study notes, not a chart
The brief sets out the speaker's thesis and the takeaways, and the names, numbers and dates said aloud are listed, including the trials and guidelines cited. It is a study aid for residents, fellows and staff, and it plays no part in decisions about anyone's care.
Use the released recording
Use the recording your department has released for teaching, the version prepared for viewing after any case material was handled. A posted video on YouTube or Vimeo can be pasted as a link; a downloaded file goes in through the upload page.
A term of rounds
Weekly rounds over a 16-week term make 16 hours, or 960 minutes, which the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes covers with room for a second term.
Question the talk afterwards
The chat over the transcript answers a question such as which study the speaker compared, and points to the timestamp so you can hear the slide being explained.
Why weekly rounds rarely get a second viewing
Grand rounds are recorded every week. Few people have an hour to rewatch one.
✗ A shelf of one-hour session videos
The sessions are saved, but finding one explanation means watching the whole talk again.
- Rounds missed on a busy service
- Notes taken while paged mid-talk
- Searching video titles, not content
- Citations said aloud and never written down
- Q&A that nobody captured
- Exam revision from memory
✓ A searchable teaching archive
Each session becomes text with chapters and the references listed, ready to read on a break.
- About 2 minutes for a 1-hour session
- Speaker named in the summary and chapters
- Cited studies and dates pulled out
- Chapters lined up with the slide deck
- Q&A kept with the talk
- DOCX and TXT for study notes

FAQ
What residents and educators ask about rounds recordings.
How long does an hour of grand rounds take?
About 2 minutes. A 90-minute session with a long discussion is back in about 3, and the transcript is saved to your Library if you leave the page.
What does a term of weekly rounds cost?
Sixteen 1-hour sessions are 960 minutes, which fits on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. Eight sessions, 480 minutes, fit on the $6 pack of 500. All prices are USD, and unused minutes stay on the account.
Is the transcript meant for clinical decisions?
No. It is a transcript of a teaching session for training and study, not a medical device, and it is not meant for any clinical use. Use recordings your institution has released for teaching, and keep any case material out of what you upload.
What file sizes are accepted for a session?
A session file can be as long as 10 hours or as large as 5 GB. Before the first pack, an upload can be up to 2 GB, which an hour of lecture video rarely approaches.
Do French sessions work?
Yes. French and English are detected automatically among 99 languages, and a session given mostly in one with terms in the other is transcribed on its main language. Drug names and acronyms are worth checking against the slides, since a misheard abbreviation reads plausibly.
Where does the recording go, and which exports are there?
Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Exports are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, and SRT or VTT can caption a posted teaching video.
