Transcribe long interviews recorded in Brazil.
To transcribe a long interview recorded in Brazil, upload the file or paste its link below: a 2.5-hour Portuguese interview comes back in about 5 minutes, and one file holds up to 10 hours. The first 20 minutes are free, and fifteen life-history interviews of 2 hours fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
For reporters, historians and HR teams
A conversation that ran past an hour, with every answer findable by minute.
Quotes you can stand behind
Key quotes come back with the speaker named and the timestamp beside them. A reporter checking a line before publication can go straight to that minute of the audio and listen again.
Oral history at full length
Life-history interviews often run two or three hours and sometimes continue across sessions. Each session goes in whole, and the chapters follow the turns in the story: childhood, migration, work, the later years.
Pricing for a series
One 2.5-hour interview is 150 minutes and fits the $6 pack of 500. Fifteen oral-history interviews of 2 hours each come to 1,800 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000. Credits do not expire between projects.
Recorded however it was recorded
A phone voice memo, a recorder's WAV file, a video call or a YouTube link to a published interview all work. A 2-hour WAV is about 1.2 GB, under the 2 GB that uploads before a pack.
What usually happens to a long interview
The best part of a two-hour interview is often in the second hour.
✗ Transcribing by ear
Long interviews are usually logged by hand, so only the parts someone remembers make it into the text.
- Hours of typing for every hour recorded
- Notes instead of the person's own words
- Quotes that cannot be checked later
- Tools that stop at 30 or 60 minutes
- A long file cut and timestamps lost
- Archive recordings never transcribed
✓ The whole conversation
Every answer in the interviewee's own words, with a timestamp to go back to.
- Two minutes or so per recorded hour
- Interviewee named in quotes and chapters
- Names, places and dates listed
- Questions the interview answers, extracted
- Up to 10 hours in a single upload
- Export DOCX for the archive

FAQ
Long interviews in Brazil: questions people ask.
How long does a 2.5-hour interview take?
About 5 minutes. Processing runs at about 2 minutes per hour of audio, and a 90-minute interview takes about 3.
What does a series of long interviews cost?
Count the minutes. A single interview of up to 500 minutes fits the $6 pack; fifteen 2-hour interviews, 1,800 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000; an archive project above that goes on the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. Prices are in US dollars, with the first 20 minutes free the first time you visit.
How long or large can the interview file be?
The ceiling per file is 10 hours or 5 GB. Before your first pack, uploads up to 2 GB start right away; a larger file starts once a pack is on the account. An interview longer than 10 hours goes in as two files.
Does it work with accents from different regions of Brazil?
Portuguese is detected automatically and transcribed as spoken, accents included. Proper names of small towns and family names are the words most worth checking against the audio, and the timestamps make that quick.
Can I paste a link instead of uploading?
Yes. YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive share links and podcast feeds can be pasted directly. An interview that lives on Instagram or TikTok has to be downloaded first and then uploaded.
Which exports are there, and is the interview kept private?
Download it as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. You can delete the recording and its transcript at any time.
