Transcribe the long videos in Articulate Rise expert sessions turned into course text.
A long video used in an Articulate Rise course, such as a recorded subject-matter expert session, is transcribed from its source file, and three hours come back in about 6 minutes. The opening minutes are a free preview, and a 20-module curriculum with a 40-minute video each (800 minutes) fits the $18 pack of 3,000 minutes.
From recording to module
The expert talked for three hours. The course needs it in readable pieces.
Use the file you uploaded to Rise
Rise lessons take a video you upload into a block or one you embed from a hosting service. For an uploaded video, the original usually sits in your project folder or with whoever recorded the session, typically as an MP4. For an embedded one, paste the YouTube or Vimeo address here instead and nothing needs downloading.
Before the course is built
Many designers transcribe the raw session first and write the modules from the text. The chapters show where each topic starts, so a three-hour recording can be cut into lessons by timestamp, and the brief gives you a first draft of the course overview and objectives.
Knowledge checks and captions
The list of questions the recording answers is a fast starting point for quiz items. The VTT and SRT exports are standard caption files; whether a Rise video block accepts a caption track depends on your version and settings, so check before you plan around it. A transcript can also sit beside the video as an accordion or a downloadable attachment.
Curriculum arithmetic
Twenty modules with a 40-minute video each are 800 minutes, on the $18 pack of 3,000. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.
Courses built from video
A module that is only a video leaves learners who skim, or cannot listen, behind.

FAQ
Rise course videos: common questions.
How long does a 3-hour video take?
Around 6 minutes, at about 2 minutes per hour of audio. A 40-minute module video is usually finished in under 2.
Is there an Articulate integration?
No. WhipScribe has no plugin or integration with Articulate 360 or Rise. You send the video file or a public link, then copy the text or attach the exports in your course yourself.
Can I transcribe a published course package?
Start from the original video rather than an exported package. Whether a published package contains the media as separate files depends on the export type, so check the export settings; the source MP4 is the reliable route.
The session file is very large. What then?
The box on this page takes up to 500 MB, and bigger files continue on the main upload page, up to 10 hours or 5 GB each. The limit is 5 GB per file, so a 3-hour 1080p recording near 5 GB may just fit, and an audio-only export of about 170 MB is the safer upload.
What does a full curriculum cost?
The opening minutes are a free preview. A 3-hour session uses the $4 pack of 300; twenty 40-minute videos use the $18 pack of 3,000; a 60-video academy at 70 minutes each (4,200 minutes) uses the $32 pack of 6,000. Credits never expire.
Are internal training recordings kept confidential?
Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. You can delete each file and its transcript at any time, and exports are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON.
