How long does a BigHand dictation take to transcribe?
Each hour of BigHand audio takes roughly 2 minutes. A 30-minute letter is ready in about a minute, a two-hour note in about 4 and a ten-hour export in roughly 20.
What does a team's dictation cost?
Four two-hour notes are 480 minutes, which fits the $6 pack. A team dictating 40 hours a quarter needs 2,400 minutes, more than the $12 pack holds, so the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes is the one, and it includes API access.
What format does BigHand export?
That depends on your firm's version and set-up, so check the export options or ask the administrator. Standard formats such as WAV or MP3 upload directly; if the upload refuses the file, convert it to MP3 first.
How big can the file be, and what if it is very long?
Up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file, with 2 GB as the limit until a pack is on the account. A dictation past 10 hours is split into two files at a pause.
Can it handle a dictation in French or Hebrew?
Yes. 99 languages are detected automatically, so the author sets nothing. If a dictation switches language for a quoted passage, it is transcribed on its main language and the switch is handled.
What can I download, and what happens to the audio?
