Transcribe long Canon EOS R8 video from a full event day to a single talk.
An 8-hour event filmed on a Canon EOS R8 comes back as text in about 16 minutes when you upload its audio as one file, which may run up to 10 hours or 5 GB. The first 20 minutes are free for a first-time visitor, and the 480 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes, leaving 20.
Back of the room to searchable text
A camera on a tripod all day records every session; the text lets people find the one they missed.
Where the R8 puts its clips
The R8 writes movies to its SD card, usually as MP4 files in the DCIM folder. Copy them with a card reader in file-number order, since a long day may come off the card as many clips depending on your settings and firmware.
Sound from the back of a room
The camera's own mic picks up the room as much as the stage. If you can, take a feed from the venue's sound desk or put a recorder near the lectern and upload that; otherwise the camera audio still works, best when the speaker used the PA. For the transcript, clean sound matters far more than resolution.
The whole day as one file
For a single document with one timeline, lay the day's clips end to end and export audio only. Eight hours as MP3 at 128 kbps is roughly 460 MB, comfortably under the 2 GB that uploads before a pack.
What the event becomes
The day returns with a brief, chapters with timestamps for each session, the questions answered and the names, figures and dates spoken. Presenters are named in the summary, quotes and chapters, and the chat finds the session where a topic came up.
Event video elsewhere
A full day on camera turns into hours nobody rewatches unless it can be searched.

- Notes written from memory afterwards
- Audience questions nobody wrote down

FAQ
Canon EOS R8 video: what event teams ask.
How long does an 8-hour R8 event take?
Close to 16 minutes, at about 2 minutes per audio hour. A single 45-minute talk is ready in roughly a minute and a half.
What does a season of events cost?
One 8-hour day uses 480 of the 500 minutes in the $6 pack. Six such days, 2,880 minutes, fit the $24 pack of 5,000. Anyone new also gets 20 minutes free.
My day ran longer than 10 hours. What now?
Export two files, split at a break such as lunch. Each can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB.
Is talking-head video any different?
No. A to-camera recording of an hour returns in about 2 minutes, and if it is already on YouTube or Vimeo you can paste the link instead of uploading.
What if speakers use other languages?
99, automatically. A conference that moves between two languages is transcribed on its main one, and English mixed with Tagalog is handled.
Which formats come back, and who sees the video?
Every event downloads as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Event recordings are transcribed on our own servers, and none is used for training.
