Transcribe long ClassIn lesson recordings for revision notes after class.
A two-hour ClassIn lesson recording is returned as text in about 4 minutes after the teacher's downloaded file is uploaded. The first 20 minutes are free, a single class uses 120 of the 500 minutes in the $6 pack, and a 10-week course of two 90-minute classes a week fits the $12 pack.
Tuition and school classes
The lesson already happened online; the notes can follow in minutes.
Who holds the file
ClassIn is used by schools and tuition centres, including many in Singapore, for live online lessons of one to two hours. Recordings are normally downloaded by the teacher or the centre, often as an MP4, and shared from there. A student transcribes a recording only when the teacher lets them have it.
Class length and upload size
A 90-minute lesson with a shared whiteboard is a small file next to the 5 GB or 10-hour limit per upload. Before any pack, files up to 2 GB upload. Should the browser or the page refuse the format, convert the recording to MP3 first. A recording that holds only the teacher's voice and a few student questions transcribes cleanly, even with long silent stretches while students work.
A term of tuition
Two 90-minute classes a week for 10 weeks add up to 30 hours, or 1,800 minutes. The $12 pack of 2,000 minutes covers it with 200 left, at $0.36 an audio hour. One class on its own sits on the $6 pack.
Notes students revise from
Chapters follow the lesson's topics with timestamps, and the brief states what the class set out to teach. Worked numbers and dates are listed, and the chat can answer a question such as how the teacher solved the third example.

Rewatching a 2-hour lesson to find one worked example takes most of an evening.

FAQ
ClassIn lessons: common questions.
How long does a 2-hour ClassIn class take to transcribe?
Around 4 minutes, as the work runs at about 2 minutes per hour of audio. A 2.48-hour recording listed at /proof/long-files took 200 seconds.
What does a term of ClassIn lessons cost?
A first-time visitor gets 20 minutes of class free. A 10-week course of two 90-minute classes is 1,800 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000. A single class fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes.
Can students download the recording themselves?
Only when the teacher or centre allows it. We have no access to ClassIn and no bot in the classroom; the file has to be downloaded and uploaded here.
Which languages work for classes?
Class language is detected automatically from 99, English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil among them. A lesson that moves between English and Mandarin is detected on its main language, and the switches are handled.
Should I join several short recordings into one?
Not unless you want a single document. Each upload may run to 10 hours or 5 GB, so even a long Saturday workshop is one file.
Which files can I download, and is the lesson kept private?
The lesson downloads as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON. Lessons are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training, and a deleted file takes its text with it.
