Transcribe a long DJI Mic 2 recording straight from the transmitter.
When a DJI Mic 2 transmitter keeps its own recording of a 5-hour interview day, that file can be uploaded as it is and read in about 10 minutes, at about 2 minutes per hour of audio. The first 20 minutes are free, and the 300 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes with 200 left.
The safety copy becomes the record
The receiver sends sound to the camera, but the transmitter clipped to the speaker often holds the cleanest sound of the day.
Where the internal file lives
With internal recording switched on, the transmitter saves what its own microphone hears. Plugged into a computer by USB-C it usually appears as a storage drive you can copy from; the files are usually WAV, and the format can depend on your settings and firmware, so check DJI's manual if something looks different.
Why it is worth uploading
Camera audio passes through a wireless link and the camera's own preamp. The transmitter's copy skips both, so dropouts, a bumped receiver or a muted camera channel do not touch it. For a transcript, the cleaner track is the better source.
How big five hours gets
A mono WAV at 24-bit and 48 kHz grows by about 518 MB an hour, so five hours is about 2.6 GB: above the 2 GB that uploads before a pack, inside the 5 GB limit once a pack is there. As a 128 kbps MP3 the same five hours shrink to roughly 290 MB and go up straight away.
Two transmitters, one conversation
An interviewer and a guest each wearing a transmitter means two files. Mix them into one track in an editor so questions and answers sit together, or send the guest's file alone when only their words matter. Bigger files than this box takes go through the main upload page.
Wireless mic files, usually
The backup recording rescued the day. Nobody has had time to listen to it since.

FAQ
DJI Mic 2 recordings, answered
How long does a 5-hour transmitter file take?
About 10 minutes. A short 40-minute clip is ready in well under 2.
What does an interview day cost?
On a first visit the opening 20 minutes are free and the rest of a longer file is previewed. Five hours, 300 minutes, fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Six of those days in a month, 1,800 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 200 left. No subscription, and credits stay on the account.
My WAV is 2.6 GB. Do I have to convert it?
Only if you have not bought a pack yet, because uploads before the first pack stop at 2 GB. With a pack on the account any file up to 5 GB goes. Converting to MP3 is the quick way round it.
Should I use the camera file instead?
If the camera's audio is clear, its video file or a link to it works as well. The transmitter's copy is usually cleaner and far smaller, so it is normally the better choice for the words.
Is there a DJI integration?
No. WhipScribe has no connection to DJI's hardware or apps and no bot inside them; you copy the file and upload it here.
What do I get, and is it private?
A brief with takeaways, chapters with timestamps, the names, numbers and dates spoken, and a chat over the text, plus TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON exports. Speech in 99 languages is detected automatically. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training.
