Transcribe long interviews from a RØDE Wireless PRO the on-board backup, as text.
A 3-hour interview recorded on a RØDE Wireless PRO transmitter comes back as text in about 6 minutes once you export the on-board recording through RØDE Central and upload it. The first 20 minutes are free, and the 180 minutes use a $6 pack of 500, leaving 320.
From the transmitter
Each Wireless PRO transmitter can keep its own 32-bit float copy. That copy is often the cleanest audio of the day.
Getting the recording out
With on-board recording on, each transmitter stores what its microphone heard. Connect the transmitter to a computer, open RØDE Central, and export the recording as a WAV; check the export settings for bit depth. Then drop the file onto this page.
The 2 GB line
A mono 32-bit float file at 48 kHz grows by about 691 MB an hour (48,000 × 4 bytes × 3,600 seconds). Three hours is about 2.07 GB, a little over the 2 GB that uploads before a pack, so it starts once a pack is on the account. A 16-bit export of the same interview is about 1.04 GB.
Two transmitters, one interview
When the interviewer and the guest each wear a transmitter, there are two recordings, each loud for one person. Line them up in an editor using a clap or the first word, mix to one file, and upload that. You pay for 180 minutes once and read the conversation in order.
What you pull from three hours
The interview returns with a brief, chapters with timestamps, every name, number and date said, and key quotes with both people named. Copy a quote's timestamp straight to your edit, or download SRT and VTT for captions on the cut.
On-board recordings elsewhere
The backup recording saves the shoot. Then it needs somewhere to go.

FAQ
RØDE Wireless PRO recordings, the common questions.
How long does a 3-hour Wireless PRO interview take?
About 6 minutes. Each extra hour of audio adds roughly 2 minutes.
What will a 3-hour Wireless PRO interview cost?
On a first visit the opening 20 minutes are free. The 180 minutes then come from the $6 pack of 500, with 320 left. Ten interviews of that length are 1,800 minutes and fit the $12 pack of 2,000.
Should I upload one transmitter's file or both?
Mix both into one file and upload the mix. Uploading each costs the interview length twice and splits questions from answers.
My export is just over 2 GB. Will it still go up?
Yes, once a pack is on the account; the limit then is 5 GB or 10 hours per file. Exporting at 16-bit halves the size if you would rather stay under 2 GB.
Does the interview need to be in English?
No. 99 languages are detected automatically, Spanish, Korean, Swedish and Tagalog among them, with nothing to set first.
Which formats come back, and is my interview private?
The interview exports to TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Your guest's words go nowhere else: recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
