Transcribe a long DJI Osmo Pocket 3 recording every segment, or one joined file.

A 75-minute interview filmed on a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 comes back as text in under 3 minutes, and each MP4 segment the camera wrote can be uploaded as it is, up to 10 hours or 5 GB. The first 20 minutes are free, one interview fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and a series of ten fits the $12 pack of 2,000.

From the gimbal to the text

A long take on a pocket gimbal arrives as several files. Each one is easy to send.

Where the segments are

The Pocket 3 records MP4 to its microSD card, usually inside a DJI folder under DCIM. A long take is split into several MP4 files that follow on from one another. The small LRF files beside them are low-resolution previews for the phone app and are not needed here.

Segments or one file

Upload each MP4 segment and each becomes its own transcript, timed from the start of that segment. For one document with one clock, join the segments in an editor and export the audio as MP3 or the video as a 1080p copy, keeping the result within 10 hours.

Sound for an interview

The built-in microphones catch the person holding the camera well; a guest across the table is quieter. A wireless clip-on microphone on the guest gives a cleaner voice track, and that is what the transcript reads. Music laid under a vlog is not transcribed; the speech over it is.

What a vlog becomes

Each recording returns with a brief, chapters with timestamps you can paste into a video description, and the names, numbers and places said aloud. SRT and VTT captions come from the same run, ready for the edit.

Pocket camera footage elsewhere

Split segments and large MP4s trip up the usual upload boxes.

✗ The usual trouble

Great footage, wrong shape for transcription tools.

  • The OpenAI Whisper API takes 25 MB at most
  • Free plans that end before the interview does
  • Segments uploaded one by one with no help
  • Captions retyped by hand for each clip
  • Converting every MP4 to audio first
  • No idea where the guest said the line

✓ Segments as the camera wrote them

Each segment, or one joined file, comes back as text.

  • MP4 segments accepted as written
  • Under 3 minutes for 75 minutes
  • SRT and VTT captions for the edit
  • Chapters for the video description
  • 20 minutes free to check the result
  • A series of ten on the $12 pack

This sample is illustrative and was written for this page, not taken from a real vlog. Roles stand in for names, and the timestamps show a 75-minute interview.

FAQ

DJI Osmo Pocket 3 recordings, the common questions.

How long does a 75-minute Pocket 3 recording take?

Under 3 minutes, since processing runs at about 2 minutes per hour of audio. A full 4-hour day of filming takes about 8.

What do ten Pocket 3 interviews cost?

Ten interviews of 75 minutes come to 750 minutes, beyond the $6 pack, so the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes is the one to buy and leaves 1,250. A single interview fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, after the first 20 minutes free on a first visit.

Is there a size limit for each segment?

Each file can be up to 5 GB or 10 hours; before a pack is on the account, up to 2 GB. A segment above 2 GB starts once you have a pack, or you can export the audio, which is far smaller.

Do I have to join the segments?

No. Each segment can be its own transcript. Join them only if you want one document and one timeline for the whole take.

Can a vlog be in another language?

99, detected automatically. A host who switches between English and another language mid-vlog is transcribed on the main language of the recording, and English with Tagalog is handled.

What can I download, and where is my footage processed?

Plain text as TXT or DOCX, captions as SRT or VTT, and JSON. Footage is transcribed on our own servers and never goes into training; delete a recording and the transcript goes too.
