Transcribe a long Ecamm Live recording and draft the show notes from it.
An Ecamm Live show recorded on your Mac is transcribed by uploading the local recording, up to 10 hours or 5 GB, or by pasting the YouTube replay link if you streamed there. A 2-hour show comes back in about 4 minutes, with the first 20 minutes free and four 2-hour shows fitting the $6 pack of 500 minutes.
After the show ends
A live show is gone the moment you click End Broadcast. Its text can keep working for the rest of the week.
The local recording or the replay
Ecamm Live can save a recording on the Mac while you broadcast, usually in your Movies folder; check the recording settings for the exact location and format. If the show went to YouTube, paste the replay link instead.
Show notes without rewatching
The brief gives the episode's thesis and takeaways, and the questions the show answered are listed, which is most of a description written for you.
Guests named where it matters
Hosts and guests are identified and named in the summary, the key quotes and the chapters, so a quote card or a newsletter line carries the right name.
A season in one place
Drop each week's file on the upload page, or paste a Google Drive folder link holding a whole season, and each show comes back with its own chapters.
Repurposing a long show
Two hours of live talk usually turns into one social post, because nobody has time to rewatch it.
✗ Without a transcript
The show is recorded, and then it sits in Movies until the next one replaces it. A guest's best answer is the hardest thing to find again.
- Rewatching to write the description
- Guest quotes paraphrased from memory
- Captions left to the platform's auto text
- Files over 25 MB refused by the OpenAI Whisper API
- No chapter list for the replay
- Comments asking where a topic started
✓ With the show as text
The whole broadcast becomes material for notes, chapters and clips you choose.
- A brief with the episode's thesis and takeaways
- Chapters with timestamps for the replay
- Quotes with the guest's name attached
- SRT and VTT files to upload with the video
- About 4 minutes after the show ends
- Four 2-hour shows on the $6 pack

FAQ
Ecamm Live recordings, answered.
How fast is a 2-hour show transcribed?
In about 4 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A 3-hour special is closer to 6.
What does a month of shows cost?
A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free and a preview of the rest. Four weekly 2-hour shows make 480 minutes, inside the $6 pack of 500 minutes. A year of them, 52 x 120 = 6,240 minutes, is more than one $24 pack of 5,000 minutes covers, so plan on a $24 pack plus a $6 pack.
How large is a local recording, and is there a limit?
Size is bitrate times time. At 8 Mbps an hour is 8 x 3,600 = 28,800 megabits, about 3.6 GB, so a 2-hour show is near 7.2 GB and over the 5 GB per-file limit. Paste the YouTube link instead, or export the audio and convert it to MP3 first. Before your first pack, uploads stop at 2 GB.
Do I need to split a long special?
Not under 10 hours. A broadcast that runs longer goes up as two files, each with its own chapters. The two halves can share a Drive folder and be pasted together as one link.
Can the show be in Spanish or Portuguese?
Yes. The language is found automatically from the audio among 99, and a show that changes language partway is read on its main language with the switches kept.
Which exports come back, and what happens to the show file?
Each show exports as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. WhipScribe is not connected to Ecamm Live; it only works on the file or link you give it.
