Transcribe a long StreamYard show host, guests and all.
A StreamYard live show transcribes from the recording you download in your StreamYard library, or straight from the YouTube replay link if the show went out on YouTube, and a 2-hour episode is ready in about 4 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers that episode and more than six hours besides.
Two ways in from StreamYard
Your show already exists twice: once in StreamYard and once wherever it went live. Either copy will do.
From your StreamYard library
After a broadcast ends, the recording appears in your StreamYard library, where you can download the video or an audio-only file. The audio download is the lighter upload and gives the same transcript. A long video download that is bigger than the box takes continues on the upload page.
From the YouTube replay
If the show went live to a YouTube channel, paste the replay link and skip the download entirely. Live replays are one of the link types we fetch. A replay longer than 6 hours starts once a pack is on the account.
Facebook and LinkedIn destinations
Replays that live on Facebook are not fetched by link, so use the StreamYard download for those shows. The same goes for any destination that is not YouTube, Twitch, Kick or Vimeo: the library copy is the reliable source.
Show notes for every guest
Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so each guest gets credit for what they said. You also get chapters with timestamps for the episode description, the names and links mentioned on air, and the audience questions that were answered.
Why live shows go untranscribed
The show was live for two hours. The written version never happens.
✗ Gone after the broadcast
The replay sits on the channel, and the good answers are buried in it.
- Auto-captions only on the public replay
- Episode notes pieced together afterwards
- Guest quotes nobody can find again
- Questions from the chat lost
- No blog post from a two-hour show
- Scraping text from auto-captions
✓ One download or one link
The show comes back as a transcript, a brief and chapters for the description.
- About 4 minutes for a two-hour show
- 20 minutes free before you pay
- YouTube replays without a download
- Each guest named in the brief and quotes
- A season on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes
- Caption files for the replay

FAQ
StreamYard recordings, the common questions.
How long does a 2-hour StreamYard show take to transcribe?
Around 4 minutes, since processing takes about 2 minutes per audio hour. A three-hour marathon episode takes about 6. A YouTube replay link usually starts processing within moments, while a downloaded file waits for its upload to finish.
What does a season of live shows cost?
A single 2-hour show is 120 minutes on the $6 pack (500 minutes). Twelve weekly 2-hour shows are 1,440 minutes, which fits the $12 pack (2,000 minutes). A daily show of 2 hours for a month is about 3,600 minutes and belongs on the $24 pack (5,000 minutes).
Should I upload the StreamYard file or paste the replay link?
If the show went live on YouTube, the link is quicker because nothing needs downloading. For shows streamed only to Facebook or LinkedIn, download the recording from your StreamYard library and upload it. Both give the same transcript.
Is there a limit on how long the show can be?
Each file can be 10 hours or 5 GB at most. Before a pack is on the account, uploads go up to 2 GB, and YouTube replays over 6 hours start once a pack is added. A broadcast that ran past 10 hours goes in as two files.
Our show switches languages with guests. Is that a problem?
No. The spoken language is picked out automatically from 99. A show that switches language is detected on its main language, and English with Tagalog in one episode is handled. Background music and sound effects are not transcribed; the speech is.
What do I get to download, and is the show used for anything else?
The episode exports to TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Your StreamYard recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete any episode with its transcript at any time.
