Link first, file second
If the stream was public, the platform probably kept it: paste the Twitch or Kick VOD, or the YouTube live replay, and nothing needs downloading. For a call or an unlisted session, use the file your recording software saved, usually an MP4, MKV or MP3; check its output settings for the folder.
Long VODs and the 6-hour line
A Wave Neo stream past the 6-hour mark begins once a pack is on the account. Under that, a first visit transcribes the opening 20 minutes free, and a pack picks up the rest from where the preview ended. A 14-hour marathon goes in as two parts, each under 10 hours.
Recording a long call

How long does an 8-hour stream take to transcribe?
About 16 minutes, because every audio hour takes about 2. A two-hour call recorded on the same mic is ready in about 4.
What do four 8-hour streams a month cost?
One 8-hour stream uses 480 minutes of the $6 pack of 500. Four of them a month are 1,920 minutes on the $12 pack of 2,000, and a weekly 8-hour schedule over a quarter is about 6,240 minutes, more than one $24 pack of 5,000 holds.
Can I paste the VOD instead of uploading?
Yes. Twitch and Kick VODs, YouTube videos and live replays, and Vimeo go in as links. Replays on other platforms are downloaded first, then uploaded.
Will a big local recording fit?
Files up to 10 hours or 5 GB are accepted, and up to 2 GB before your first pack. An 8-hour video file is often larger than 5 GB, so paste the VOD link or export the audio as MP3, about 460 MB at 128 kbps.
I stream in another language. Does that work?
Yes. 99 languages are detected automatically, Korean, Japanese and Tagalog among them, and a stream that switches language is detected on its main one.
What files come back, and is my stream private?
Every stream exports to TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Your stream is transcribed on our own servers and is never used for training, and nothing connects to Elgato software or your stream account.
