Transcribe long recordings from a Fujifilm X camera a whole event day in one pass.
A Fujifilm X camera saves movies to the card's DCIM folder, usually as MOV, and a 6-hour event day joined into one soundtrack is text in about 12 minutes. That day is 360 minutes: the first 20 are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the other 340 with 160 left.
Event footage, turned into a record
Panels, talks and interviews shot on an X body, gathered into one transcript.
Finding the files
Clips sit in a numbered subfolder of DCIM next to the photos. Most X bodies record MOV, and some newer ones also offer MP4; check the file format option in the movie menu. Copy the clips in shot order, which the file numbers keep for you.
Many clips, one day
An event day is usually dozens of clips, with gaps between sessions. Put them on one timeline and export the audio as a single MP3, which keeps the whole day on one clock. At 256 kbps that is about 115 MB an hour, so six hours come to roughly 691 MB.
A three-day conference
Three days of 6 hours each make 1,080 minutes of talks. The $12 pack of 2,000 minutes holds that with 920 left for the next event. One day alone fits the $6 pack.
A write-up from the day
Each recording comes back with a brief, chapters with timestamps, key quotes, and the names, figures and dates the speakers mentioned. Presenters are named in the summary and chapters when they are introduced, which helps when one recording holds a whole panel.
Event video elsewhere
A day of camera clips is too much for most transcription uploads.
✗ The usual friction
Many clips, big files, short limits.
- The OpenAI Whisper API refuses anything above 25 MB
- Free plans that stop at 30 minutes a file
- Dozens of clips transcribed one at a time
- Timestamps that reset every clip
- Gigabytes of video uploaded for the speech
- Talks summarised from memory a week later
✓ One soundtrack, one record
A full event day comes back as one searchable document.
- MOV clips or a single exported MP3
- Twelve minutes or so for six hours
- A whole day in one file, up to 10 hours
- Chapters per session or speaker
- The event's first 20 minutes free
- One $6 pack for a 6-hour day

FAQ
Fujifilm X recordings, the common questions.
How long does a 6-hour event recording take?
Plan on about 12 minutes; an audio hour takes close to 2. On the proof page a 2.48-hour file finished in 200 seconds.
What will a day, or a conference, cost?
On a first visit, the event's opening 20 minutes are free. A 6-hour day, 360 minutes, sits on the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Three such days, 1,080 minutes, belong on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
How big can the clip be?
Before your first pack a file can be up to 2 GB; after it, up to 5 GB. Ten hours is the length limit either way. A long MOV can pass 5 GB, which is why the exported soundtrack is the safer upload.
Should I split a long day?
Split only a recording that runs past 10 hours. Under that, one joined audio file is simplest, and separate clips work too if you want a transcript per session.
Can it handle panels in other languages?
The language is picked up from the audio, out of 99, with no setting to touch. A session that switches language part way is detected on its main language, and the switches are handled.
What do I get back, and where does the footage go?
You get TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, ready for a write-up or captions. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and deleting a file removes its transcript as well.
