Transcribe Google Meet recordings saved to Drive paste the link, skip the download.
Google Meet saves each recording to the organiser's Drive, in the Meet Recordings folder, so pasting its Drive share link here transcribes a 90-minute meeting in about 3 minutes with nothing downloaded. Thirteen weekly 90-minute meetings are 1,170 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes, and your first 20 minutes are free.
Drive to text
The recording is already in the cloud, so the transcript can start from there.
Where Meet puts the file
Each recorded meeting lands in the organiser's My Drive, in a folder named Meet Recordings, and appears once Google has finished processing it. The organiser owns the file, so the organiser, or someone they gave edit access, is the person who can change who may open it.
Making the link open
Set the recording to anyone with the link can view, copy the link and paste it in the box. We fetch the video from Drive directly, which saves moving a long recording through your own connection. Turn sharing back to restricted once the transcript is ready, if your team prefers that.
A whole quarter in one paste
A Drive folder link works as well, so the Meet Recordings folder, or a folder of one team's calls, goes in from a single paste. Each recording becomes its own transcript. Thirteen weekly 90-minute meetings use 1,170 minutes of the $12 pack's 2,000, leaving 830 for the next quarter.
What each meeting turns into
A brief with the decisions and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, the names, numbers and dates that were said, and the questions the meeting answered. Participants are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, and the chat over the transcript tells you what was agreed about any topic.
Meet recordings elsewhere
Most Meet recordings are saved, shared once and never opened again.
✗ Left in Drive
A folder that only grows.

- Tools that stop at a short limit
- Weekly decisions with no written trail
- Searching the video for one number
✓ Pasted from Drive
Every meeting readable without leaving the browser.
- One Drive link, or a whole folder
- Roughly 3 minutes per 90-minute call

- Colleagues named in the summary and key quotes
- Thirteen weekly calls on the $12 pack
- DOCX notes to keep beside the video

FAQ
Google Meet recordings in Drive, the common questions.
How long does a Meet recording from Drive take?
About 2 minutes per audio hour, so a 90-minute meeting is done in roughly 3 minutes and a 4-hour workshop in about 8. The proof page shows 4.94 hours in 372 seconds.
What does a quarter of weekly meetings cost?
A first visit includes the first 20 minutes free, with a preview of anything longer. One 90-minute meeting fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and thirteen of them, 1,170 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000. A team that records every week may prefer the $19 a month Workspace.
Is there a size limit, and do long recordings need splitting?
One recording may run to 10 hours or 5 GB. A Meet recording longer than 10 hours goes in as two files; anything shorter is transcribed whole, by link or upload.
Do I have to download the recording from Drive?
No. Paste the Drive share link or a folder link. Download and upload only if your organisation does not allow link sharing.
Which languages do Meet recordings support?
There are 99, each detected automatically. A call that mixes English with Spanish, Tagalog or another language is detected on its main one, and the switches are handled.
Which exports are available, and who sees the recording?
Each Meet recording exports as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and the file in your Drive is left as it was.
