Transcribe a long GoTo Meeting recording from the file you download.
A GoTo Meeting recording of two or three hours is transcribed in about 4 to 6 minutes once you download it from the GoTo web app and upload it here, up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file. The first 20 minutes are free, and a 3-hour meeting uses 180 of the 500 minutes in a $6 pack. There is no GoTo integration and no bot in the meeting: the work starts from the file you saved.
Getting the recording out of GoTo
GoTo keeps the meeting. Your job is to get the file onto your computer once.
Cloud or local recording
GoTo Meeting can record to the cloud or to the organiser's computer, depending on how the account is set up. Cloud recordings are reached from the GoTo web app, usually from the meeting history or a recordings list, and the organiser can download them, usually as an MP4. Older local recordings sometimes need converting in GoTo's own tool before other software will open them, so check the recording settings if a file will not play.
Upload the download
Once the file is on your computer, drop it in the box above. A two-hour meeting with screen sharing easily passes a few hundred megabytes: at 1 megabit per second, an hour of video is 125 kilobytes a second times 3,600 seconds, about 450 MB. Files heavier than the box takes continue on the upload page, up to 5 GB.
Three hours, worked out
A 3-hour meeting is 180 minutes, about 6 minutes of processing, and 180 of the $6 pack's 500 minutes, leaving 320 for the next one. A monthly three-hour steering meeting adds up to 2,160 minutes over a year, which sits on the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes rather than the $12 pack of 2,000.
What the meeting becomes
The transcript comes back with a brief of the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, and the names, numbers and dates that were said. Attendees are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so whoever writes up the actions can find who promised what without scrubbing through the video.
Where GoTo recordings stall
The organiser has the recording. Everyone else has a question about minute ninety.
✗ Left in the account
A long meeting saved in GoTo stays a video that only the organiser ever opens.
- Scrubbing three hours for one decision
- A file far past a 25 MB API limit
- Cutting the meeting into parts to fit a tool
- Local recordings in a format other players reject
- Actions written up from memory
- A monthly fee for a tool used twice a quarter
✓ One file in, one document out
The recording goes up once and comes back searchable, with times you can cite.
- A 3-hour GoTo meeting in about 6 minutes
- The first 20 minutes at no charge
- Three hours use 180 of 500 pack minutes
- Chapters that track the GoTo agenda
- A chat that answers questions about the meeting
- DOCX for the write-up, SRT for the video

FAQ
GoTo Meeting recordings, the usual questions.
How long does a 3-hour GoTo Meeting recording take?
About 6 minutes once the upload has finished, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A 90-minute GoTo call needs about 3. Our proof page shows a 9.31-hour file finished in 1,033 seconds, so the length is rarely the slow part; the upload usually is.
What does a long GoTo meeting cost?
Three hours of GoTo meeting count as 180 minutes. On a first visit the first 20 minutes are free and the rest goes on the $6 pack of 500 minutes, which also covers the next meeting of the same length. Packs are one-time payments in US dollars, and unused minutes never expire.
Where do I find the recording to download?
Cloud recordings are reached from the GoTo web app, and the organiser can download them, usually as an MP4. If you were only an attendee, ask the organiser for the file. A local recording sits on the organiser's computer, in the folder chosen in the recording settings.
The recording is large, or longer than 10 hours. What then?
A single GoTo file may run to 10 hours or weigh up to 5 GB. Until a first pack is bought, an upload tops out at 2 GB; a bigger GoTo file begins as soon as one is. A meeting that ran past 10 hours goes in as two files, and saving a heavy video's audio as an MP3 makes it far smaller.
Can it handle a meeting held in another language?
Yes. 99 languages are detected automatically, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and Korean among them. A meeting that moves between languages is detected on its main one, and switches between English and Tagalog in one recording are handled.
Which exports, and where does the recording go?
A GoTo meeting exports as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. The meeting is transcribed on our own servers and is never used for training, and no bot ever enters a GoTo meeting: only the file you upload is processed.
