Transcribe town halls streamed with Hive Streaming the whole company heard it, now everyone can read it.
Upload the recording of a town hall delivered with Hive Streaming and a 2-hour event is text in about 4 minutes, at about 2 minutes per audio hour. The first 20 minutes are free; a year of twelve 2-hour town halls (1,440 minutes) fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
From broadcast to record
The stream reached thousands of desks without a hiccup. The words were gone when it ended.
Find the recording at the source
Hive Streaming carries the live video across the company network, so the recording usually sits with the platform that produced the event, such as the meeting or webcast tool your comms team used, often as an MP4. Download it from there or ask the event producer; menus vary, so check the export settings. A replay on YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive can be pasted as a link.
A big event file
A 2-hour town hall in full HD can be over a gigabyte. The box on this page takes up to 500 MB, and larger recordings continue on the main upload page, up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file. Before a first pack, files up to 2 GB upload; a bigger one starts once a pack is on the account.
A year, priced
Twelve monthly town halls of 2 hours are 1,440 minutes on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes, leaving 560. If each one is repeated live for three regions, the year is 4,320 minutes, which needs the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. The twelve-event year is text in about 48 minutes.
What comes back
A brief with the thesis and takeaways, chapters at each agenda item, the figures and dates leaders gave, and the questions employees asked. Leaders are named in the summary and key quotes. Upload on upload page, then chat over the transcript to draft the intranet recap.

FAQ
Hive Streaming town halls, answered.
Does WhipScribe connect to Hive Streaming?
No. WhipScribe has no integration with Hive Streaming or with the event platform, and nothing joins the broadcast. Download the recording afterwards and upload it, or paste a public link.
Where do I find the recording?
With whoever produced the event. Hive Streaming delivers the stream; the recording is normally kept by the meeting or webcast tool that ran the town hall. Your comms or AV team can usually export it.
How long does a town hall take?
About 2 minutes per audio hour: 2 hours in about 4 minutes, a 4-hour leadership summit in about 8. The text is usually ready before the replay link goes out.
What does it cost?
A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free; a longer town hall is previewed and a pack from $6 transcribes the rest. One 2-hour event fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes; twelve need the $12 pack of 2,000; three regional repeats a month need the $24 pack of 5,000.
Our regional repeats are in different languages.
99 languages are detected automatically, file by file, so a Japanese or Portuguese repeat needs no setting. Walk-on music and applause are not transcribed; the speech is.
How is confidential content handled?
Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Delete a file and its transcript as soon as you no longer need them.
