Transcribe long shoot days from a Hollyland Lark Max the transmitter's own copy, as text.
A Hollyland Lark Max transmitter can keep its own recording of a long shoot, and once that file is copied to a computer and uploaded, seven hours of interviews come back as text in about 14 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and the 420 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes with 80 left.
The backup that has every word
The receiver feeds the camera. The transmitter's own copy is often the clearest record of a long day.
Copying it off the transmitter
With on-board recording switched on, each transmitter stores what its microphone picked up. Connect it to a computer by cable and copy the files, or follow the steps in Hollyland's app or manual for your firmware. The file is usually a WAV; check the recording settings for its format.
Several files from one day
Long recordings are often saved as a series of files rather than one. Line them up in an editor and export a single file, or upload each in order. One file keeps a single timeline, so chapters and quotes match the day from first word to last.
Size over a long shoot
A mono 24-bit file at 48 kHz grows by about 518 MB an hour, so seven hours is roughly 3.6 GB: inside the 5 GB a file may be, above the 2 GB that uploads before a pack. Converted to MP3 the same day shrinks to about 403 MB and uploads at once.
What the shoot turns into
The day returns with a brief, timestamped chapters, and the names, numbers and dates said on camera. Interviewees are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so the editor can drop a quote's time straight onto the timeline and download SRT for subtitles.
Wireless backups elsewhere
The on-board copy saves a shoot. Then it sits on a drive because nobody has time to listen.

FAQ
Hollyland Lark Max recordings, the common questions.
How long does a 7-hour Lark Max recording take?
About 14 minutes. The speed is the same whether it arrives as one file or several.
What does a long shoot day cost?
Your first 20 minutes are free on a first visit, and a longer recording is previewed first. Seven hours, 420 minutes, fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes with 80 left. A four-day shoot of the same length, 1,680 minutes, fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
Two people wore transmitters. Which recording do I send?
Combine the two transmitter files into one mix, then upload that. Two uploads cost the day twice and put questions and answers in separate documents.
Should I send the camera file instead?
If the camera recorded the receiver's sound well, a link or file of that video works too, as long as it is under 5 GB. The transmitter's copy is often cleaner and much smaller, so it is usually the better choice.
Which languages can the interviews be in?
Any of 99 languages, and you never pick one: detection is automatic. A subject who switches between two languages is transcribed on the main one.
Is there a Hollyland app link, and is the footage private?
There is no integration with Hollyland's app or hardware; you copy the files and upload them here. Every recording is transcribed on our own servers and never used for training. Pick TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON for the shoot.
