Transcribe long LinkedIn Live recordings from the copy the host keeps.
A 90-minute LinkedIn Live event transcribes from the recording the host saved, and it comes back as text in about 3 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers that event with 410 minutes left over.
From the broadcast to the text
The event already happened on LinkedIn; the text starts from the file you kept.
Where the copy usually is
Most LinkedIn Live broadcasts go out through a streaming tool, and that tool often keeps its own recording of the session. Download it from there, usually as an MP4, and drop it on this page. If you are not sure which copy you have, check the export settings of the tool you streamed from.
No bot in the event
WhipScribe has no integration with LinkedIn and nothing joins the broadcast. It works on the recording once the event is over, so the audience never sees a recorder and the host decides which file to send.
The arithmetic for a series
A 90-minute event uses 90 minutes of a pack. Five of them come to 450 minutes and still fit the $6 pack of 500. A monthly 2-hour event for a year is 1,440 minutes, which sits on the $12 pack of 2,000 with 560 minutes spare.
What the event turns into
The brief gives the thesis of the session and its takeaways, the chapters mark each panel segment with a timestamp, and the panellists are named in the summary and quotes. Pull a quote for the follow-up post, or ask the chat what was said about pricing or hiring.
LinkedIn Live elsewhere
An hour and a half of panel talk is too long for most quick caption tools.
✗ What usually goes wrong
The event ran long, and the tools that take a file stop early.
- The OpenAI Whisper API stops at 25 MB per upload
- A 90-minute MP4 is far past that
- Captions written live and never cleaned
- Splitting the event into short parts
- Panellists mixed up in the notes
- Quotes typed out by replaying the video
✓ With the saved file
One upload carries the whole broadcast.
- The MP4 goes up as downloaded
- About 3 minutes for 90 minutes
- One file up to 5 GB
- Panellists named in the summary
- Chapters per agenda item
- The opening 20 minutes cost nothing

FAQ
LinkedIn Live recordings, the common questions.
How long does a 90-minute LinkedIn Live take to transcribe?
About 3 minutes, since processing runs at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. A 2-hour event takes about 4. The upload itself depends on your connection, so a large MP4 may take longer to send than to transcribe.
What does an event, or a whole series, cost?
The first 20 minutes are free on your first visit, and a longer recording shows a preview before you buy. One 90-minute event uses 90 minutes of the $6 pack of 500. Twelve monthly 2-hour events are 1,440 minutes on the $12 pack. A team that streams every week may prefer the $19/month Workspace.
Can I paste the LinkedIn link instead of uploading?
No, LinkedIn links are not read directly. Download the recording and upload it. If the same event was also streamed to YouTube or saved to Google Drive, paste that link instead and nothing needs downloading.
How big can the file be?
Up to 5 GB or 10 hours per file. Before the first pack, uploads go up to 2 GB, and a larger file starts once a pack is on the account. An event that ran past 10 hours goes in as two files.
Our panel spoke more than one language. Will that work?
The language is detected automatically from 99, with nothing to choose. A session that switches language is detected on its main language and the switches are handled.
What comes back, and who hears the recording?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, plus the brief, chapters and chat. Event recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Only send events you have the right to use, such as your own broadcast.
