Transcribe long podcast episodes recorded on a MAONO PD200X every episode, show notes included.
A 2.5-hour podcast episode recorded on a MAONO PD200X comes back as text in about 5 minutes, whether you upload the mixed episode or paste the show's RSS feed. The first 20 minutes are free on a first visit, and a 12-episode season of that length is 1,800 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
Long conversations, one mic each
The PD200X plugs in over USB or XLR, so it shows up in solo shows and in multi-mic setups through an interface or mixer. Either way, the episode file is what WhipScribe reads.
USB or XLR, same next step
Over USB, the PD200X records straight into your editor; over XLR, it goes through an audio interface or mixer, which may also save its own files. Either way, export the finished mix or take the recorder's file, and upload that. Separate per-person tracks can be uploaded one by one, but the mixed episode is usually the one you want.
Published episodes need no file
Once an episode is out, paste the podcast's RSS feed or episode link and WhipScribe fetches the audio itself. That is the fastest route for a back catalogue: no exports, no uploads, just the feed. Unpublished cuts and raw sessions go in as files.
Long talk, clean voices
A dynamic mic like the PD200X rejects a lot of room sound, which helps when two hosts talk for hours. Each voice close to its own mic transcribes cleanly; crosstalk where both hosts speak at once may come back partial. Intro music and stingers are skipped, since only speech is transcribed.
Show notes in one pass
Each episode returns as a brief with the thesis and takeaways, timed chapters you can paste into show notes, the names, numbers and dates mentioned, and the listener questions the hosts answered. The hosts are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, and SRT or VTT files caption a video version.
Long episodes, without a transcript
A 2.5-hour episode is great to listen to and slow to write show notes for.
✗ Without a transcript
The episode ships; the notes lag.
- Show notes written from memory
- Chapters skipped on long episodes
- Guest quotes paraphrased, not checked
- No searchable archive of the show
- Captions missing from the video cut
- Old episodes impossible to search
✓ With each episode transcribed
The recording becomes the notes.
- Episodes fetched from the RSS feed
- About 5 minutes per 2.5 hours
- Timed chapters for show notes
- Quotes found in the chat
- SRT and VTT for the video cut
- A season on the $12 pack

FAQ
MAONO PD200X episodes, the common questions.
How long does a 2.5-hour episode take?
Roughly 5 minutes, at about 2 minutes per audio hour. A published episode fetched from the RSS feed skips the upload wait.
How much is a season, or the whole back catalogue?
Twelve 2.5-hour episodes are 1,800 minutes, inside the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 200 left. A back catalogue of 30 such episodes is 4,500 minutes, inside the $24 pack of 5,000. A single episode uses 150 minutes of the $6 pack's 500, after the first 20 minutes free.
Should I upload the mix or each track?
The mix, for show notes and captions: one transcript, one timeline, both hosts in it. Separate tracks each cost their own minutes and come back as separate transcripts, which only helps when you are editing a single voice.
Which file should I export?
WAV, MP3, M4A and FLAC from an editor normally upload as they are; check your editor's export settings if the file has an unusual extension. The upload box on this page takes up to 500 MB, and a bigger file continues on the main upload page, up to 10 hours or 5 GB. A file over 2 GB starts once a pack is on the account.
Is there a MAONO app connection?
No. WhipScribe has no integration with MAONO software or any recording app. You upload the finished file or paste the feed.
What comes back, and is the audio kept private?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, plus the brief, chapters and chat. Every episode is transcribed on our own servers, and none is ever used for training.
