MASV delivery · download, then upload · 8 hours in about 16 min

Transcribe a long recording delivered by MASV a full event day, read before the recap is due.

When a production team delivers a long recording by MASV, download the files from the delivery link and upload the recording here; an 8-hour event day is text in about 16 minutes. Those 480 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and a two-day event, 960 minutes, fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.

Big deliveries, long days

The crew delivered the whole day by MASV. The recap still has to be written.

Download before the link lapses

MASV deliveries usually carry an expiry date and sometimes a password, both set by the sender. Download as soon as the delivery arrives; for very large packages the MASV desktop app may be the steadier way. The delivery link is a download page, not a media link we can fetch.

When the day is one giant file

A full-day 1080p program feed can be well over 5 GB. Extract the audio before uploading: eight hours as a 128 kbps MP3 is about 461 MB, which even fits the box above. Anything between 500 MB and 5 GB continues on the upload page.

Split days and long days

If the crew delivered one file per session, upload each one and get a transcript per talk. If the day runs past 10 hours in one file, cut it into two parts at a break; each part can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB.

The recap from the brief

Each file comes back with a brief holding the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, the names, figures and dates said on stage, and the questions answered. Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, which is most of an event recap.

Why event recaps slip

Eight hours of stage time. A recap promised for Monday.

✗ Working from the delivery

A huge file, a deadline, and no text.

  • A delivery link that expires next week
  • Program feeds too big for most uploads
  • Hours of scrubbing for the quotable line
  • Session titles typed from the agenda
  • Captions ordered separately, days later
  • Recaps written from notes taken on the day

✓ Working from the transcript

Download, upload, and draft the recap from the brief.

  • 480 minutes back in about 16 minutes
  • An audio copy small enough to upload fast
  • Chapters that line up with the sessions
  • Key quotes ready for the recap
  • SRT and VTT for the replay
  • The whole day inside the $6 pack

FAQ

MASV deliveries, the practical questions.

Can I paste the MASV link here?

No. A MASV link opens a download page, and the links WhipScribe fetches are YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, Kick, Google Drive and podcast feeds. Download the delivery and upload the recording file.

How long will an 8-hour day take?

Around 16 minutes once it has uploaded, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. On a big video file, extracting the audio first saves more time than anything else.

What does a two-day event cost?

Two 8-hour days are 960 minutes, which fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 1,040 left. One day alone fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes. First-time visitors get the opening 20 minutes free.

The file is 12 GB. What now?

One file can be up to 5 GB or 10 hours, and before the first pack the limit is 2 GB. Extract the audio track, which brings a day's recording down to a few hundred megabytes, or ask the crew for per-session files.

What if the speakers switch languages?

99 languages are detected automatically. A session that moves between two languages is detected on the main one, and English terms inside other languages are handled.

Is an unreleased event recording safe to upload?

Event footage is transcribed on our own servers and never used for training. Remove the file and transcript from your Library once the recap is out.
