Notion · audio blocks · download the file, then upload

Transcribe audio from Notion pages recordings that sit in your wiki.

An audio file embedded in a Notion page transcribes once you download it from the audio block and upload it here, and a 2.5-hour workshop recording is text in about 5 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free for a new visitor, and one 150-minute recording fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes with 350 left.

Packs from $6, credits never expire · then from $0.36/hour · Credits never expire · Never used to train AI
✓2.5 hours in about 5 minutes · ✓Text to paste back into Notion · ✓No subscription · ✓Files never used for training

From the page to the words

A recording in a wiki is filed, not read. A transcript beside it gets read.

Getting the file out

The audio block's menu usually offers a download of the file; on some setups you open the original link and save it from there. If the audio also sits in Google Drive, paste that share link instead and skip the download. Notion page links themselves are not read, so the file or a Drive link is what comes here.

What comes back

A brief with the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, the names, numbers and dates said, and the questions the recording answers. Paste the brief under the audio block and the chapters below it, and teammates can read the meeting in five minutes rather than listen for two and a half hours.

A team's backlog, priced

Twelve 90-minute recordings in a team space come to 1,080 minutes. That is more than 500, so the $12 pack of 2,000 fits, with 920 minutes left for the next batch. For a team that records every week there is a $19/month Workspace; one-time packs suit a backlog.

Files of any length

A single file may run to 10 hours or 5 GB. The upload box on this page takes files up to 500 MB, and a larger file continues on the main upload page. Until a pack is on the account, uploads stop at 2 GB. A recording that is mostly music or ambient sound will come back thin; speech is what is transcribed. Several files from one page go in one after another, each as its own transcript.

Recordings in a wiki

Audio blocks are easy to add and almost never played back.

✗ Audio block only

Hours of recording behind a play button.

  • Teammates who never press play
  • Decisions only in the audio
  • No search across recordings
  • Notes written separately, if at all
  • OpenAI's Whisper API refuses files over 25 MB
  • New hires missing context

✓ Audio plus text

The recording and a readable page beside it.

  • About 5 minutes for 2.5 hours
  • Brief to paste under the block
  • Chapters with timestamps
  • Speakers named in the summary
  • Searchable once pasted in
  • DOCX and TXT exports

FAQ

Notion audio, answered.

Is there a Notion integration?

No. WhipScribe has no Notion integration or bot. You download the audio from the block, upload it here, and paste the text back into the page yourself.

How long does a 2.5-hour recording take?

About 5 minutes, at around 2 minutes per hour of audio. A 45-minute stand-up is done in about a minute and a half.

What does a team's archive cost?

Packs are one-time and the credits never expire: $6 for 500 minutes, $12 for 2,000, $24 for 5,000. Thirty recordings of 2 hours, 3,600 minutes, belong on the $24 pack with 1,400 left.

Can I paste a Notion page link?

No, Notion links are not read. Download the file, or paste a Google Drive share link if the audio is stored there. YouTube, Vimeo and podcast feed links also work for recordings hosted on those.

What if the file is a video, not audio?

Video files upload too; MP4 and WebM are accepted by the upload box, and other formats may need a quick conversion to MP3 or MP4 first. Only the speech is transcribed.

Is the recording private?

Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training. Delete a recording and its transcript from your Library when you are done. Whoever can see the Notion page can see whatever you paste into it, so check its sharing before adding the text.
