Transcribe long recordings from an OBSBOT Tail the camera follows you, the transcript keeps up.
A 90-minute class filmed on an OBSBOT Tail comes back as text in about 3 minutes, whether you upload the recorded file or paste the Twitch or YouTube replay. The first 20 minutes are free; twelve 90-minute classes a month are 1,080 minutes, which fit the $12 pack of 2,000.
Auto-tracking, auto-written
The Tail keeps a moving presenter in frame for the whole session. What the presenter says deserves the same attention.
Where your file is
Depending on the model and how it is set up, a Tail may record to its own microSD card, send video to a computer over USB or NDI, or stream straight to a platform. Card recordings are usually MP4; for the other routes, the file sits wherever OBS or your streaming app saves it. OBSBOT's app guide covers the settings.
Replays as links
Streamed to Twitch, Kick or YouTube? Paste the VOD or replay link and the audio is fetched, with no download. Replays over 6 hours start once a pack is on the account. Recordings on other platforms need downloading first, then uploading here.
Twelve classes, priced
Three 90-minute classes a week for four weeks are 1,080 minutes, inside the $12 pack of 2,000; the remainder covers most of the next month. A teacher running one weekly class, 360 minutes a month, fits the $6 pack of 500.
Lesson notes from the session
Each recording returns with a brief, chapters with timestamps for each part of the class, and the names, numbers and terms you said aloud. Send students DOCX notes, add SRT captions to the replay, or ask the chat when a question about homework came up.
Teachers and presenters who move
The camera followed you around the room. The notes for students still have to be written.

FAQ
OBSBOT Tail recordings: questions people ask.
How long does a 90-minute OBSBOT Tail class take?
About 3 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A three-hour workshop is back in about 6.
Which audio gives the best transcript?
A wireless mic on the presenter. An auto-tracking camera keeps you in frame as you move, but its own microphone hears you from further away as you walk. Background music is not transcribed; your voice is.
What does a month of classes cost?
Twelve 90-minute classes, 1,080 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000. One weekly class, 360 minutes a month, fits the $6 pack of 500. Credits never expire, so holidays cost nothing.
My recording is bigger than the box on this page.
The box takes files up to 500 MB. Larger ones continue on the main upload page, up to 10 hours or 5 GB a file; before the first pack the limit is 2 GB.
Is this different from the OBSBOT webcam page?
That page covers OBSBOT webcams on a desk, recorded through an app on the computer. This one is about the Tail's long tracked sessions, stream replays and classroom arithmetic; the upload steps are the same.
Which exports come back, and is it private?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. WhipScribe has no integration with OBSBOT's app or your streaming software.
