Off the VoiceTracer

The DVT2110 sits on the table every week. A year of its files can become one searchable record.

Copying the file

Connect the DVT2110 to a computer with its USB cable; it normally appears as a drive with the recordings in a folder. Copy the meeting by date and drag it onto this page. If the recorder lives with the team secretary, they can put each file in a shared Google Drive folder and send you the link.

MP3 or WAV

Depending on the setting, the recorder saves MP3 or an uncompressed file; the manual names the options for your firmware. Either uploads. A 90-minute MP3 at 192 kbps is about 130 MB, while a 44.1 kHz, 16-bit stereo WAV of the same meeting is near 950 MB and goes past this page's 500 MB box to the main upload page.

A year of weekly meetings

Fifty-two meetings of 90 minutes are 4,680 minutes. That is too many for the $12 pack of 2,000 and fits the $24 pack of 5,000 with 320 minutes for the odd extra session. A single meeting uses 90 of the $6 pack's 500.

What each meeting becomes

A brief records what was decided and the reasons, chapters split the agenda with timestamps, and every name, amount and date that came up is listed. Speakers are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, and the chat answers which week the budget was approved.

A year of meeting audio

Fifty-two recordings in a folder are not a record. Fifty-two transcripts are.

✗ Recordings only

Every meeting kept, none of it findable.

  • Decisions searched for by date guesswork
  • Minutes typed up days later, if at all
  • Owners of actions forgotten by Friday
  • A WAV too big for the usual upload
  • Nothing to search across the year
  • One person carrying the note-taking

FAQ

Philips VoiceTracer DVT2110 meetings, answered.

How long does a 90-minute DVT2110 meeting take?

About 3 minutes at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. A rare four-hour planning day takes about 8.

What does a year of weekly meetings cost?

Fifty-two 90-minute meetings are 4,680 minutes, which fit the $24 pack of 5,000. Minutes never expire, so a gap in the schedule wastes nothing. A first visit also gets the opening 20 minutes free.

Is there a link between Philips software and WhipScribe?

No. There is no integration with the recorder or with any Philips software. Copy the file off the device and upload it here, or paste a Google Drive link to it.

What is the largest file I can upload?

Each file may be up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before the first pack, files up to 2 GB upload; a larger WAV starts once a pack is on the account.

What if people talk over each other?

Overlapping speech is transcribed as well as the audio allows. Placing the recorder in the middle of the table helps more than any setting.

Which exports are there, and who can hear the meeting?

You can take TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete a meeting at any time.
