Transcribe Podomatic podcast episodes new episodes and the archive behind them.
A Podomatic show's RSS feed can be pasted here, or the episode file uploaded, and a 90-minute episode is transcribed in about 3 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, one episode fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and an archive of 180 episodes averaging 25 minutes, 4,500 minutes, fits the $24 pack of 5,000.
An archive worth reading
Long-running shows build up years of audio. The transcript makes it a record.
From the feed or from your files
A public Podomatic show has an RSS feed, usually linked from the show's page as a subscribe or RSS option. Paste it and pick the episode to have the audio fetched. If you kept the original recordings, uploading those works just as well, and they are often better quality than the published MP3.
Older files
Archive episodes are usually MP3s, sometimes at low bitrates from years ago; they upload as they are. A file that the upload refuses can be converted to MP3 first. Each file may run 10 hours or 5 GB, and before the first pack uploads go up to 2 GB.
An archive, priced
One hundred and eighty episodes at an average of 25 minutes are 4,500 minutes, which fits the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes with 500 to spare. A current season of 20 episodes at 90 minutes, 1,800 minutes, fits the $12 pack of 2,000. One episode fits the $6 pack.
Search years of shows
Each episode returns a brief, chapters with timestamps, and the names, places and dates said. Ask the chat when a topic first came up and it points to the episode and minute. Music and sound effects are not transcribed; the speech is. Begin with one episode on upload page.

FAQ
Podomatic episodes, answered.
Can I paste a Podomatic feed?
Yes, when the show is public. Paste the RSS feed and choose the episode; the audio is fetched on our side. Episodes not in the public feed go in as uploaded files. Working through an archive is easiest newest-first, so the episodes listeners find today get their text before the oldest ones.
How long does an episode take?
Roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 90-minute episode takes about 3 minutes and a 25-minute one under a minute. Each transcript stays listed under your account, so the archive can be finished over several weeks.
What will the whole archive cost?
One hundred and eighty 25-minute episodes, 4,500 minutes, fit the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. A season of twenty 90-minute episodes fits the $12 pack of 2,000. The first 20 minutes are free on a first visit. Prices are in US dollars and every pack is a one-time payment.
Is there a Podomatic integration?
No. There is no integration or sign-in. WhipScribe reads a public feed or the file you upload, and your Podomatic account stays untouched.
Will old, low-quality MP3s work?
Yes, they upload as they are. Speech is transcribed and background music is left out; a very noisy early episode may need a quick read-through of the names.
Which languages and exports, and is it private?
99 languages, detected automatically per episode. Exports are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Episodes are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training.
