Transcribe long two-mic recordings from a PreSonus AudioBox both voices, one transcript.
A PreSonus AudioBox records two microphones into your DAW on separate tracks, and once both are mixed into one file, a 3.5-hour interview uploaded here returns as text in about 7 minutes. Your first 20 minutes are free, and the 210 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes with 290 left.
Two tracks, one conversation
Two microphones make two tracks. A transcript reads best when both arrive together.
Mix down in your DAW
Whether the session sits in PreSonus Studio One or another DAW, both inputs are on their own tracks. Leave both unmuted, set the levels so neither voice drowns the other, and export the full length as one file. The menu wording varies, so look for export mixdown or render.
Two exports, two problems
Upload each track alone and you pay for 3.5 hours twice, then read questions in one document and answers in another. The faint bleed of the other voice on each track can also show up as stray words. A single mix fixes all three.
Keep the mix light
For 3.5 hours, a mono 16-bit, 48 kHz file is about 1.21 GB and uploads before a pack. A stereo 24-bit export of the same interview is around 3.6 GB, under the 5 GB ceiling but only once a pack is on the account. Mono loses nothing a transcript needs.
What both voices give you
Oral histories, research interviews and two-host shows are what a two-input box is for. The interview returns with a brief, timestamped chapters, and the names, numbers and dates said, with both speakers named in the summary, key quotes and chapters.
Two-mic interviews elsewhere
Recording two clean tracks is the easy part. Keeping them together through transcription is not.

FAQ
PreSonus AudioBox recordings, the common questions.
How long does a 3.5-hour AudioBox interview take?
Roughly 7 minutes. Each hour of audio adds about 2 minutes, and the proof page shows 9.31 hours handled in 1,033 seconds.
How much does a series of long interviews cost?
A first visit includes 20 free minutes. One 3.5-hour interview uses 210 minutes of the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Nine of them, 1,890 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes; a tenth pushes the series to 2,100 minutes, which belongs on the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes.
Which AudioBox model do I need for this?
Any of them, as long as the session can be exported as one audio file. The page only ever sees that export, so the model, the DAW and the microphones make no difference to the upload.
Should the two voices be panned left and right?
It does no harm, but a centred mono mix is smaller and reads just as well. The transcript follows the conversation either way.
Does it work for interviews in other languages?
Yes. 99 languages are detected automatically, and an interview that moves between two of them is transcribed on the main language.
Is there a Studio One extension, and is the interview private?
There is no extension; WhipScribe has no integration with PreSonus hardware or software. Export, then upload here. Both voices are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. You can download the interview as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON.
