Transcribe interview and podcast sessions recorded on a Universal Audio Volt session after session, one file each.

A 90-minute interview recorded through a Universal Audio Volt comes back as text in about 3 minutes once you export the session as a single file and upload it. The first 20 minutes are free, one session uses 90 of the 500 minutes in the $6 pack, and a series of twelve, 1,080 minutes, fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.

A series, not a one-off

People who buy a Volt for interviews record a lot of them. Each one should be a quick upload.

Export each session as it ends

The Volt passes its inputs into the DAW you record with. When an interview finishes, export the session from start to end as one file, named for the guest or the date, and upload it before the next one starts. Check the export settings once and reuse them.

The size of a 90-minute export

A stereo 24-bit WAV at 48 kHz is about 1.04 GB an hour, so 90 minutes is roughly 1.56 GB: under the 2 GB that uploads before a pack. Recorded at 96 kHz the same session doubles, which is the moment to export at 48 kHz or as an MP3 instead.

Built for a run of interviews

Credits never expire, so a pack bought for one project keeps working for the next. Twelve sessions of 90 minutes come to 1,080 minutes; the rest of a $12 pack covers the follow-up calls. Episodes already published can arrive as a podcast feed link instead of a file.

Back from each session

A brief with the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, every name, number and date said, and the questions the interview answers. Both people are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, which turns a long talk into an episode page in minutes.

Interview series elsewhere

One long interview is a chore to transcribe. A season of them stalls the whole project.

✗ Where a series stalls

Recordings pile up faster than notes.

  • Monthly plans billed between seasons
  • A 25 MB ceiling on the OpenAI Whisper API
  • 96 kHz exports refused for size
  • Interviews transcribed weeks late
  • Quotes timed by listening again
  • Each guest's file handled a new way

✓ Upload as you go

Every session readable the same day.

  • About 3 minutes per 90-minute session
  • Packs that never expire
  • Up to 10 hours or 5 GB a file
  • Podcast feed links accepted
  • Quotes with times for the edit
  • TXT and DOCX for the archive

FAQ

Universal Audio Volt recordings, the common questions.

How long does a 90-minute Volt interview take?

About 3 minutes. A full afternoon of four such sessions finishes in roughly 12.

How much will a season of Volt interviews cost?

On a first visit, the opening 20 minutes are free and a longer interview shows a preview first. One 90-minute session takes 90 minutes from the $6 pack of 500 minutes, so five fit with 50 to spare. Twelve sessions, 1,080 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.

Does the Volt's preamp setting change the transcript?

Not in any way you need to plan for. What matters is a clear voice at a sensible level; a clipped or very quiet recording loses words whatever the interface was.

I recorded at 96 kHz. Will the upload refuse it?

Only for size. A 96 kHz stereo WAV is twice as heavy as 48 kHz, so a long one can pass 2 GB before a pack, or 5 GB after. Export at 48 kHz or as an MP3; speech reads the same.

Can I paste a podcast feed instead of uploading?

Yes, once the episodes are published. Paste the RSS link or a YouTube or Vimeo link and nothing is uploaded from your computer. WhipScribe has no integration with Universal Audio; the file or the link is the whole route.

What do I download, and is the interview private?

TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON from each session. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, so an unreleased interview stays with you.
