Transcribe long DAW sessions recorded through a Behringer UMC202HD bounced to one mono file.
A Behringer UMC202HD sends two inputs into your DAW, so a 5-hour workshop becomes text only after you bounce the session to one file, and that upload comes back in about 10 minutes. The opening 20 minutes are free, and the 300 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes, leaving 200.
Two inputs, one bounce
The interface only carries signal. The DAW holds the session, and the bounce is what we read.
Bounce the whole timeline
Reaper, Cakewalk, Audacity, Ableton and the rest all call it something slightly different: render, export, bounce or mixdown. Select the full length, include both input tracks, and write one file. Check the export settings for channels and bit depth before you press go, because they decide the size.
Why the 5-hour file can be too big
Stereo 24-bit at 48 kHz runs about 1.04 GB an hour, so five hours lands near 5.2 GB, just past the 5 GB a file may be. Speech does not need it. A mono 16-bit export of the same session is about 1.73 GB, which even uploads before a pack is on the account.
Hours that are mostly talk
Teaching workshops, a two-voice interview on both inputs, a choir rehearsal where the director stops every few bars, a long voice-over read: the UMC202HD is a common choice for all of them. What is sung or played is left out; what is said between takes is transcribed.
Reading five hours quickly
Five hours come back with a brief, chapters you can jump through, and the names, numbers and dates that came up. Whoever spoke is named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. Ask the chat when a topic was first raised and it points to the timestamp.
Long interface sessions elsewhere
A full day through a two-input interface rarely fits an upload box built for clips.

- Whisper's API refuses files above 25 MB
- The day cut into hourly pieces
- Each piece starting at 00:00:00
- Instructions found by scrubbing
✓ Bounce, upload, read
The day as one searchable document.
- Both inputs in one mono mix
- About 10 minutes for 5 hours
- One file up to 10 hours
- Chapters across the whole day
- Names and numbers gathered
- DOCX for anyone who missed it

FAQ
Behringer UMC202HD recordings, the common questions.
How long does a 5-hour UMC202HD session take?
About 10 minutes. Processing runs near 2 minutes per hour of sound, whatever the DAW or interface was.
What does a 5-hour session cost?
New visitors get the first 20 minutes free; past that, a preview shows how the session reads. The full 300 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes with 200 left. Six sessions of five hours, 1,800 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
My export is 5.2 GB. What should I change?
Export again in mono at 16-bit, or as an MP3, which at 128 kbps is roughly 58 MB an hour. Either keeps every word and brings five hours well under the limit.
I recorded each input to its own track. Do I upload both?
No. Bounce both tracks together into one file so the conversation stays in order. Two separate uploads cost twice the minutes and split one discussion across two transcripts.
Can the session run longer than 10 hours?
Each upload can be at most 10 hours or 5 GB. For a longer day, export two files split at a break and upload both; each returns with its own timestamps.
Is anything installed in my DAW, and who hears the audio?
Nothing is installed; WhipScribe has no integration with Behringer hardware or any DAW. You bounce, then upload. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and exports come as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON.
