Transcribe long recordings from Remo workshops, talks and events.
A Remo workshop transcribes from its recording file (usually an MP4, uploaded here at up to 10 hours or 5 GB), and a 3-hour session returns in about 6 minutes. It uses 180 minutes of the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and a year of monthly 2-hour events, 1,440 minutes, fits the $12 pack of 2,000.
After the event
Long workshops are where the useful detail is, and the detail is hard to keep.
Getting a recording
Whether Remo records a session depends on how the event was set up, so check the event's recording settings or ask the organiser for the file. If nothing was recorded inside Remo, a screen recorder such as OBS on the host's computer makes a long file just as well. Either way the file is usually an MP4.
No bot, no integration
WhipScribe never joins the event and has no connection to Remo. You upload the finished file, or paste a YouTube or Google Drive link if the recording was put there. Tell the room at the start that the session is being recorded, so nobody is surprised by the transcript later.
Workshop and year, in minutes
A 3-hour workshop is 180 minutes, leaving 320 of the $6 pack's 500 for later. Twelve monthly 2-hour events come to 1,440 minutes, which the $12 pack of 2,000 covers with 560 to spare. Processing runs at about 2 minutes per audio hour, so the workshop is ready in about 6.
Notes for colleagues who missed it
Each recording comes back with a brief of the main points, chapters with timestamps for each exercise or talk, and the names, numbers and dates that were said. Facilitators and guests are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, and the chat answers questions such as what the group agreed to try next.
Workshop recordings elsewhere
A three-hour workshop recording rarely gets watched past the first twenty minutes.
✗ Recorded, then shelved
The file exists; the decisions inside it fade.
- Three hours of video for one decision
- Notes left to whoever was not facilitating
- Exercises nobody wrote down
- Follow-ups forgotten by the next event
- Size limits on long screen recordings
- Cutting the file to get it accepted
✓ Transcribed whole
The whole workshop as text, ready the same afternoon.
- The MP4 uploads as recorded
- Roughly 6 minutes for the full 3 hours
- A chapter for every exercise
- Facilitators named in the summary and quotes
- Twelve events on the $12 pack
- TXT and DOCX notes to send round

FAQ
Remo recordings, the common questions.
How long does a Remo workshop take to transcribe?
A 3-hour workshop takes about 6 minutes, at about 2 minutes per audio hour, and a 2-hour event about 4. See the proof page for a 2.48-hour file done in 200 seconds.
What does a workshop, or a year of events, cost?
Your first 20 minutes are free on a first visit, and a longer recording is previewed. The 3-hour workshop fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Twelve 2-hour events, 1,440 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000.
What are the file limits, and do long recordings need splitting?
A Remo recording may be up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before a pack, uploads stop at 2 GB; a bigger screen recording starts once a pack is on the account. A day-long event under 10 hours goes up in one piece.
Remo did not record the session. Can I still get a transcript?
Only from a recording that exists. Next time, record the host's screen and audio with a screen recorder, or record the main room on a phone near the speaker, and upload that file.
Which languages can the workshop be in?
Any of 99 languages, recognised without a setting. A workshop that moves between two languages is detected on its main one, and the switches are handled.
What do I get to download, and who can see the recording?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, all from one upload. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete a recording with its text at any time.
