Transcribe Samsung interview mode recordings two voices, one transcript.
A Samsung Voice Recorder interview mode recording uploads here straight from the Galaxy phone, and a 100-minute interview comes back as text in under 4 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free for a new visitor, and five 100-minute interviews (500 minutes) fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes exactly.
Interview mode to text
Interview mode is made for two people facing each other. The transcript keeps both sides.
How interview mode records
Interview mode in Samsung's Voice Recorder uses the microphones at the top and bottom of the phone, so it works best lying flat between two people, each end pointed at one of them. It is offered on many Galaxy phones; if you do not see it, your model or app version may not have it. A quiet room and the phone on a soft surface, so table knocks are muffled, help more than anything else.
Finding the file
Recordings usually appear in the Voice Recorder app's list and in My Files, in a folder for voice recordings; the exact folder name has changed between One UI versions. Newer phones usually save M4A, which uploads as it is. Open this page in Samsung Internet or Chrome and pick the file.
A research project, priced
Fifteen interviews of 100 minutes are 1,500 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 with 500 to spare. Thirty interviews of an hour, 1,800 minutes, also fit the $12 pack. A large study of forty 100-minute interviews, 4,000 minutes, needs the $24 pack of 5,000.
Consent and care
Ask the person's permission before you press record and keep the recording to the purpose you agreed. For research, follow your ethics approval on storage and anonymising, and delete the recording from your Library once the study allows. Transcribe the full interview, then quote from the key quotes list, where each quote carries its timestamp so you can check it against the audio.

FAQ
Samsung interview mode, answered.
How long does a 100-minute interview take?
Under 4 minutes, at about 2 minutes per audio hour. A 9.31-hour file finished in 1,033 seconds on /proof/long-files.
Will the two people be told apart?
Interviewer and guest are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so you can see who said each key line and jump to it by timestamp.
What does one interview cost?
On a first visit the first 20 minutes are free. The rest of a 100-minute interview is previewed, and a pack from $6 transcribes it from where the preview ended. Credits never expire.
Is there a limit on length?
One file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB; a long interview from a phone is a small fraction of that. Uploads go up to 2 GB before the first pack. Past 10 hours, split into two files. An M4A interview recorded on a phone is usually tens of megabytes an hour, well inside the 500 MB this page's upload box takes.
Can the interview be in Korean, Spanish or another language?
Yes. 99 languages are detected automatically, and an interview that switches language is detected on its main language with English terms inside the speech handled.
Where does the recording go?
Interviews are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training. There is no Samsung integration; you upload the file. Download TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON.
