Transcribe long Seesaw class videos the lessons and class events you posted for families.
A 75-minute class video that a teacher posted to Seesaw comes back as text in under 3 minutes once the file is uploaded here, and the first 20 minutes are free. A school year of 36 weekly 45-minute lesson recordings is 1,620 minutes and fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes; WhipScribe has no connection to Seesaw and works only on the file you save.
From a class post to a lesson recap
The video families watch once becomes a page you can reuse all year.
Find the original file
Seesaw's own recorder suits short clips, so a long lesson, a class assembly or a family night is usually filmed on a tablet or computer and then attached to a post. That original is often still in the device's camera roll or downloads folder, typically as an MP4 or a MOV. If your Seesaw view offers a download for the item, that works as well.
One upload, the whole lesson
Upload the file as it is: one file can run to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before the first pack, files up to 2 GB go through; a larger one starts once a pack is on the account. When a lesson already sits on YouTube, Vimeo or a Google Drive share link, paste the link instead.
A year of lessons, priced
Thirty-six weekly 45-minute lesson recordings add up to 1,620 minutes, which is the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. A single 2-hour spring concert or family evening is 120 minutes and belongs on the $6 pack of 500 minutes.
What comes back for the class
Each recording returns with a brief of the main points, chapters with timestamps, and the names, numbers and dates said aloud. Ask the chat which homework was set in week twelve, or export a DOCX recap for a family who missed the lesson.
Why long class videos get skipped
A parent with ten spare minutes will not scrub through a 75-minute lesson.
✗ Video only
The lesson is there, but nobody finds the part they need.
- Families asking what was covered on Tuesday
- Lesson recaps typed up in the evening
- Absent pupils with no written version
- Recordings too long to rewatch for one instruction
- No captions for a pupil who needs them
- A year of posts with nothing searchable
✓ With a transcript beside it
Each long post gets a readable page and a recap.
- Text of a 75-minute lesson in under 3 minutes
- Chapters at each activity change
- Homework and dates pulled out of the talk
- SRT or VTT for captions on the video
- A DOCX recap for families
- Credits that roll into next school year

FAQ
Seesaw class videos: common questions.
How long does a 75-minute class video take?
Under 3 minutes in most cases, since processing runs at about 2 minutes per audio hour. A 45-minute lesson is ready in roughly a minute and a half.
What will a term or a whole year cost?
A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free. Twelve 1-hour lessons in a term come to 720 minutes on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes, and a full year of 45-minute weekly lessons, 1,620 minutes, also fits that pack. Packs are one-time and credits never expire.
Pupils speak in my recordings. Is that allowed?
Follow your school's policy and the permissions families gave for recording before you upload anything with pupils' voices. Many teachers transcribe only the parts they lead, or share the recap rather than the full text.
Can I paste a Seesaw link?
No. Seesaw post links are not a source WhipScribe can fetch, so save the video file and upload it. A lesson you also put on YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive can go in as a link.
My class is bilingual. Will the transcript cope?
The language is detected automatically from 99, with nothing to set. A lesson that moves between two languages is detected on its main one and the switches are handled. Songs and background music are not transcribed; the talking is.
Which files do I get, and where does the recording go?
You can download TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. The video is transcribed on our own servers and is never used for training, and you can delete the file and its text whenever you choose.
