Transcribe a long Spoon live the DJ's whole broadcast, as text.
A Spoon live you saved or recorded transcribes here at about 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 3-hour DJ broadcast comes back in about 6 minutes, with up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file. The first 20 minutes are free, and two 3-hour lives (360 minutes) fit the $6 pack of 500.

The live ends. What the DJ said can stay searchable.
Getting the file out
Spoon is built for listening inside the app, so the first job is getting a file. If the app keeps your finished live, or lets your account publish it as a saved cast, look for a download option on it. If there is none, record while you broadcast: a recorder on the mixer, a desktop recorder when you host from a computer, or a screen recording with sound on a phone that allows it, which usually lands as an MP4 in the gallery.
Audio-only keeps it light
A live saved as a 128 kbps MP3 works out to 128,000 bits a second, divided by 8, times 3,600 seconds: about 57.6 MB an hour, so a 4-hour live is near 230 MB. A screen recording carries video as well and runs far larger. Convert it to audio if it nears the 2 GB that uploads before a first pack, or send it on the upload page.
The cost of a regular schedule
One 3-hour live is 180 minutes, and two of them, 360 minutes, sit inside the $6 pack of 500. A DJ on air three nights a week for 3 hours records about 2,160 minutes a month, which goes on the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. Packs are bought once and the minutes never expire, so a quiet month costs nothing.
What the broadcast becomes
A brief of what the live covered, chapters with timestamps for each segment, guests identified and named in the summary and key quotes, and the names, dates and numbers said on air. Pull a story for a cast, answer a listener who missed the night, or ask the chat over the transcript when a topic first came up.
Why lives go unread
Hours of talk on air, and nothing on paper once the live closes.
✗ Without a transcript
The live is heard once, then it exists only in memory.
- No text to quote from last night's live
- Scrubbing a 3-hour file for one story
- The OpenAI Whisper API's 25 MB limit per file
- Lives chopped into pieces to fit short tools
- Listener questions answered from memory
- A language picked by hand before each run
✓ With the recording uploaded
The whole broadcast lands in one searchable transcript.
- About 6 minutes for a 3-hour live
- Roughly 230 MB of MP3 for 4 hours
- Up to 10 hours in a single file
- Chapters for each segment of the show
- Korean, Japanese or English recognised alone
- TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON

FAQ
Spoon lives, answered.
Can I download a Spoon live directly?
That depends on what the app offers your account, and it changes between versions, so check the options on a finished live. When no download exists, record while you broadcast or use a screen recording with sound. WhipScribe has no Spoon integration and no bot in the app; it works on the file you upload.
How long does a 3-hour live take?
About 6 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. On the public proof page, a 9.31-hour file finished in 1,033 seconds.
What does it cost?
The first 20 minutes are free on a first visit. A 3-hour live uses 180 of the 500 minutes in the $6 pack, and a month of three weekly lives, about 2,160 minutes, belongs on the $24 pack. Prices are in USD, paid once, with no subscription.
My live ran past 6 hours and did not start. Why?
A stream recording over 6 hours starts once a pack is on the account, and before a first pack uploads go up to 2 GB. Add a pack and it begins. Past 10 hours, split the recording into two files.
Does the background music end up in the text?
No. Music, sound effects and crowd noise are not transcribed; the speech is. Talking over a loud song can still blur a line, so a quiet bed under the voice gives cleaner text.
Which languages work, and where does the audio go?
The language is detected automatically from 99, Korean, Japanese and English among them, and a live that drifts between two is detected on its main one. Lives are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Send only broadcasts you have the right to use.
