Transcribe a Microsoft Teams webinar recording from the registration page to a written follow-up.
A Microsoft Teams webinar recording transcribes once the organiser downloads it and uploads it here, at about 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 60-minute webinar is text in about 2 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and a ten-webinar series of 600 minutes sits on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 1,400 left over.
Registration webinar to transcript
Teams keeps the recording for the organiser. That is where the transcript starts.
Where the recording usually sits
A Teams webinar with a registration page is recorded like any Teams meeting: the file usually lands in the organiser's OneDrive or SharePoint, and it is usually an MP4. Attendees and co-organisers may only get a replay link, so ask the organiser to download the file itself. Menus differ between tenants and licences, so check your admin's settings if the download option is missing.
Getting it into WhipScribe
The box on this page takes files up to 500 MB, which covers most webinar audio and many shorter videos. A bigger MP4 continues on the main upload page, still up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file. If the webinar was also published to YouTube or Vimeo, paste that link instead and skip the download entirely.
Sizes before a first pack
A 60-minute screen-share webinar is often a few hundred megabytes, and a 2-hour session with camera feeds can approach a gigabyte or two. Before the first pack, uploads up to 2 GB go through; a file over 2 GB starts once a pack is on the account. Exporting only the audio shrinks any of them to a fraction of that.
What the marketing team receives
A brief with the webinar's thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps for each agenda item, and the names, figures and dates the presenters gave. Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. The questions the webinar answered become a ready list for the follow-up email or a help article.
The week after the webinar
Most registrants never watch the replay. They will skim a page of text.
✗ A replay link and good intentions
The recording sits in the organiser's storage while the follow-up email waits on someone's notes.
- A recap drafted from the slide deck
- Live questions answered aloud and forgotten
- No quotes for the blog or the newsletter
- Sales asking which prospect asked what
- Captions missing from the on-demand page
- The next webinar planned before this one is used
✓ The webinar as a working document
Text, chapters and the answered questions, ready the same afternoon.
- About 2 minutes for a 60-minute session
- Presenters named in the summary and key quotes
- A chapter for every agenda item and the Q&A
- Figures and dates listed for the recap
- DOCX for the follow-up, SRT and VTT for the replay
- Minutes left on the pack for the next session

FAQ
Teams webinar recordings, answered.
Does WhipScribe connect to Microsoft Teams?
No. There is no Teams integration and no bot joins the webinar. The organiser downloads the finished recording and uploads it here, or pastes a YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive link if the recording was published there.
How long does a webinar take?
About 2 minutes per hour of audio. A 45-minute webinar comes back in about 90 seconds, a 90-minute panel in about 3 minutes, and a half-day virtual training of 4 hours in about 8.
What does a webinar series cost?
A first-time visitor gets the first 20 minutes free: a short session transcribes in full and a longer one is previewed, with a pack from $6 finishing the rest from where the preview ended. Six 60-minute webinars are 360 minutes, inside the $6 pack of 500; ten of them are 600 minutes and go on the $12 pack of 2,000.
Can I paste the SharePoint or OneDrive link?
Not as a link. WhipScribe fetches YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, Kick, Google Drive share links and folders, and podcast feeds. A Teams recording in OneDrive or SharePoint is downloaded first and then uploaded.
Are the typed Q&A questions included?
Only the ones someone reads aloud. The transcript is the speech in the recording, so a moderator who reads each question before answering it puts the question into the text as well.
Which languages and exports?
99 languages are detected automatically, and English product terms inside a German or Spanish webinar are handled. Exports are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
