One feed per show · several shows · 2 min per hour

Transcribe long Transistor episodes across every show you host.

Each show on a Transistor account has its own RSS feed, and a one-hour episode pasted from it is transcribed in about 2 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and three weekly one-hour shows, 720 minutes a month, run two months on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 560 left.

Many shows, one account

Agencies and companies with several podcasts need one place for the text.

A feed for each show

Transistor lets one account host several podcasts, and each one has its own RSS feed. Paste a show's feed, pick the episode, and the audio is fetched without a download; repeat with the next show's feed. A private or unpublished episode goes in as an uploaded file instead.

Long episodes are fine

An interview show that runs past two hours is still one recording, never chopped. Uploaded files may reach 10 hours or 5 GB; up to 2 GB goes through before any pack, and a linked episode is never uploaded at all. Each show's episodes stay listed under your account, so a producer can find last month's text without asking.

Budgeting several shows

Three shows publishing one hour a week use about 720 minutes a month. The $12 pack of 2,000 minutes carries two months of that and keeps 560. A larger network on 5,000 minutes a quarter fits the $24 pack, and a team that records weekly can use the $19 Workspace.

Text every show can reuse

For each episode: a brief with thesis and takeaways, timestamped chapters for the description, the names and figures said, and the questions it answers. The chat finds the episode where a topic came up, which helps when one network shares guests. Intro music and stingers are left out of the text; only the speech is transcribed.

Running a network

Several shows mean several backlogs of untranscribed audio.

✗ Show by show

Each podcast handled with its own workaround.

  • Different tools for different shows
  • Monthly caps that a network outgrows
  • The 25 MB Whisper API upload limit
  • Episodes exported and re-uploaded
  • Producers writing chapters by hand
  • No shared search across shows

✓ Feed by feed

Every show's episodes from their own feed, one account.

  • Paste each show's RSS feed
  • Two minutes or so per hour of audio
  • Credits that outlast any season
  • Chapters for every description
  • Captions for video episodes
  • Three shows on one $12 pack

FAQ

Transistor shows: the usual questions.

How long does a Transistor episode take?

Close to 2 minutes for each hour of a Transistor episode. The proof page lists a 2.48-hour file that took 200 seconds.

What will three weekly shows cost?

Twenty minutes come free on a first visit. Three one-hour shows a week, about 720 minutes a month, fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes for two months. One episode alone fits the $6 pack of 500.

Do I connect my Transistor account?

No. There is no integration or login; you paste each show's public RSS feed, or upload a file for an episode that is not public. Nothing changes in Transistor, and your analytics and settings are untouched.

Can different shows use one balance?

Yes. Credits sit on your WhipScribe account, never expire, and are spent by any recording you send, whichever show it comes from. One pack can cover a quiet month on one show and a busy one on another.

Which languages are supported?

99, detected automatically per episode. A show that switches between English and French in one episode is detected on its main language.

Which exports come back, and is the audio safe?

Every episode gives you TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Every show is transcribed on our own servers and never used for training, and you can delete any file and its transcript.
